BUCKLE UP, FAM, BECAUSE TODAY WE ARE GOING TO AN AMUSEMENT PARK WITH PERCY JACKSON, ANNABETH CHASE, AND GROVER UNDERWOOD...
so let’s just suspend our disbelief and pretend like this can happen safely for our halfblood friends.
and then let’s start off with the basics
so percy is a rollercoaster junkie
he loves the most dangerous, thirlling, tall, death defying rollercoasters you can find
he will do them all
grover, on the other hand, definitely does not like the rollercoasters but will do it with percy because they’re bro’s
he is much more interested in carnival and amusement park food
“i have to try that.”
“dude, it’s fifteen dollars!”
“i would give my life savings for it, percy.”
“you don’t have a life savings.”
“that was a low blow, annabeth.”
and, as we all would guess, annabeth is crazy competitive at all of the mini games
she wins all the prizes and let’s percy pick them
he has so many blue stuffed animals its insane.
annabeth almost regrets letting him take all the prizes - it’s a never ending sea of blue stuffed animals in his dorm that she can’t get rid of.
as you can tell, going to an amusement park with these guys is an experience™
and you are loving every m i n u t e of it
the moment all three of you enter, you know and annabeth try to make a plan of attack
you would make sure that you would hit every ride and booth on your way there, and you would save the rides with long waits for the opportune moments when the park was slow
“you are not going to spreadsheet our adventure, (y/n). part of the fun is the adventure!”
and you and annabeth tried to defend yourselves, but percy just pulled you along
and your first couple stops were mild rollercoasters
and all of you were able to stomach them with no problem
even grover liked them
“hey, this isn’t so bad, you guys.”
“just you wait, grover. you haven’t seen anything yet.”
then you went on a b i g g e r rollercoaster
it was the only big one grover did
you sat with grover and percy and annabeth sat in front of you
and when the rollercoaster got going really fast, you could see her lean into percy
this was grounds for teasing, later
after that the group had to settle their nerves
which means overpriced food
when annabeth saw the prices she refused to buy anything and said instead that she would win her food
she then proceeded to play all of the games, but not one offered her food as a prize
but it’s okay, because percy bought her food in .000001 seconds after her saying so
you got a pretzel and some ice cream
and percy would continuously try to steal your pretzel
“get your own food, percy.”
“i spent all of my money on annabeth and grover!”
“then ask annabeth!”
“and die? i’d rather not.”
“then have grover ask her.”
“...you might be onto something.”
and after lunch, you are r e a d y
you go to the water rides
percy is very for it
so is grover, surprisingly
annabeth would rather d i e
but she can’t exactly say no to percy
which means you all get in a raft together
and you and percy have the time of your lives
you splash each other and frequently try to get grover to fall into the water
and percy accidentally gets annabeth wet in the process
...and no one speaks of the ride afteward
and after that, all of you decide to go to the gift shops for a few minutes
and all of the keychains are overpriced
and the water bottles are more expensive than a coke
and you suddenly understand how amusement parks make their revenue
by the end of the day, all of you have a wicked tan
grover has a sunburn over his nose
percy has a sock tan
it makes you and annabeth cry you’re laughing so hard
and you know that for your final ride you go on the ferris wheel
“is this a good time to mention that i’m not the best with heights?”
“it’s okay, grover. we’re gonna be fine.”
you get him distracted by taking photos instead
and you all have a copy of ridiculous photo booth pictures that you all hold dearly
