Don't worry, this works across borders too. And even with private companies! Czech ain't much better. :D
I’ve no doubt that this happens in most places in the world.
(Exception Japan, where apparently they had to apologise, because a Shinkansen was too early.)
It’s just a big joke. xD
Especially since others fame Germans for being always on time. ;)
A man called (car insurance/warranty line), asking for a replacement car while his own was being repaired. I couldn't put him through and he wouldn't give me the info necessary for someone trained for the product to call him back. He claimed repeatedly that he's been waiting for hours and noone called him back. I couldn't find a file. Turns out he never actually called us before. We're literally the only way for him to get a paid-for replacement car when his new vehicle breaks down.
@anneluciaf replied to your post: It’s so different how German and how US media see...
I haven’t even noticed it in Czech media yet, so… Yea.
We can’t escape US-news. It’s always the biggest headlines here. I can’t see anything else. :(
First headlines in Germans biggest media:
SPIEGEL (left-leaning centrist, most reliable):
“Racists-gathering in the USA - The moral failure of the US-President”
“Violence at gathering of rascists - FBI to investigate in Charlottesville”
BILD (one step above daily fail):
“Car-attack in Charlottesville - HE speeded into demo against right-wing Ku-Klux-Klan”
Tagesschau (only news feed, strictly centrist):
“Riots at ultra-right-wing-Demo - Criticism against Trump’s “Violence on many sides”“
Welt/N24 (right.leaning centrist, very reliable):
“Deaths in Charlottesville - Trumps “lax” reaction enrages Republicans”
“Riots in Virginia - State of emergency in Charlottesville - Pictures show unrestrained violence”
“Death-driver of Charlottesville - On Facebook he shared pictures of swastikas, Assad and Hitler as a baby”
It’s everywhere.

I'm the kind of person to just figure stuff out, luckily my family did notice it's the 21st century and would just teach me. But if my flushing mechanism breaks, I'm fucked. It's in a wall :))))
yikes that would be tough to deal with. my main problem rn is that ours is one of those OLD OLD OLD OLD OLD types
but overall i tend to figure things out myself as well, hence my liveblogging this ordeal haha. i just can’t believe how much backwards gender theory i had to hear about it today
Sorry you're not feeling all that great. Wanna hear about some very dumb drivers I encountered at work?
That sounds wonderful!
anneluciaf replied to your post “i finished reading the alchemist by paulo coelho today. which in...”
I read that one summer. My teacher always asked what we had read during the summer, I said The Alchemist. She was like "that's my favorite book! We need to talk about it later", and I was like :) but in my mind, I was going "oh my God how do I politely tell this very awesome teacher that I hated her favorite book?" Luckily, she forgot all about it. It's been a few years and I already forgot why I didn't like it. I actually mostly forgot what it was about, so... ♀️
well i am glad you avoided a most awkward conversation! i think it’s an easily forgetable book if you don’t like it though. and if you don’t like it, then there’s no loss in forgetting about it.
