i don't want to hold u back. i want u to get ur razor blades out. but, idk, in defense of the poster (???? why) i think they meant that she was invasive bc she was empathic not bc she is a counselor. though i would imagine that most people with psychology degrees, expecially ones who work in therapy would have a very solid grasp and understanding of human behaviour/emotions to the point where they would be able to quite confidently read people. SO. 

BUT YES OF COURSE SHE WORKS TO A CODE OF ETHICS AND UNDERSTANDS BOUNDARIES. People literally do not understand her purpose AT ALL. and are way dumb.

Hogwarts AU. How do these sound? Picard: Ancient Runes. Troi: Divination. Tasha: DADA (because she dies oh) replaced by Worf. Geordi: Arithmancy. Data: History of Magic/Care of Magical Creatures. Riker: Flying/Apparition. Beverly as Hogwart's Healer so: Potions/Herbology. Guinan: Muggle Studies. Special guest animagi Laxwana Troi for: Transfigurations/Charms... her animagus would be like a peacock.... I forgot Astronomy which is kind of ironic.

NAILED IT.

i was totally thinking divination for deanna (side note for anyone interested ie just me. in my b5 au talia was super into divination ~sigh. still waiting for my crossover fic by the way) and also flying for riker, he also probably is really into quidditch, he used to be gryffindor seeker amirite. 

omg professor yar :(((((((((((( killed by the dark lord. but worf replaces her and is from durmstrang.

totally into picard teaching ancient runes and geordi for arithmancy. omg data teaching care of magical creatures tho asdk;salkd;lsak adorable. I thought of bcrush as madame pomfrey-y at first but i think she’d definitely be a professor too and herbology omg yes basically. AND GUINAN FOR MUGGLE STUDIES.  

SPECIAL GUEST PROFESSOR AND INSPIRATIONAL SPEAKER LWAXANA TROI. Don’t forget ladies muggle males are commodities, you’ll understand when you’re older. A PEACOCK I AM CREY. Also she’d teach at Beauxbatons most of the time, lbr there is veela blood in the troi family.

Okay because I am taking this way too seriously let’s discuss houses. Picard is Ravenclaw (head of, of course, though it’s tempting to promote picard to headmaster) Deanna is literally the Queen of Hufflepuff. Riker is such a gryffindor omg, like remember in Starship, Mine when he was like ‘I’ll sort out this problem’ and everyone was like oh good Will’s going to distract them this will work out really well for all of us and then he just punched that guy in the face. Oh u sweet, knuckle headed gryffindor. 

Geordi’s a hufflepuff too and Guinan is bros with Worf and Riker in gryffindor. Lwaxana, though from Beauxbaton, is such a beautiful slytherin, but then we get to data and beverly and i’m stuck! data’s either ravenclaw or hufflepuff and bcrush is either ravenclaw or gryffindor.
