For my researching fellows, what are you researching on? If you’re not currently researching, what is the topic within your field that you’re most passionate about?
Prothesis and their improvement and affordability. I want to be able to make/do a prosthetic that is affordable enough for anyone who needs it, and not have it be something a selected few people with disabilites can get.

Definitely ten am, I probably have a caffeine addiction by now, and will forget your brithday but I wont forget that you like frogs and your favourite colour. I don't really have a favourite movie if I'm honest, though my comfort movie is Pride and Prejudice (2006) if that counts for anything
Happy Saturday, hope y'all can make the most out of your weekend!
Introduce yourself! What’s some basic info you’d like to share about yourself? Also! What are you studying? (If you’re in college, what’s your major? which semester are you in?)
Hi my name is Anniki, I am 19 years old and I am from Mexico. I am currently studying my third semester (or zoomester if you will) of Biomedical Engineering.
I am looking into moving to Osaka, Japan to finish my college tuition or start my masters there. I speak Spanish, English, a bit of Chinese and even less Japanese, but we're getting there.
Have you done a challenge before? If so, how was it? If not, what are you expecting to get out of this experience?
Idk what y'all mean by a challenge, but I've done a couple of 21 days fitness challenges in my city, basically cardio classes in a big park to prove yourself you can become better.
Other challenges I can think of are the ones that have been self-imposed, as in, training to be able to jump high enough to reach over the net at volleyball practice, or Inktober when I used to draw a lot.
I expect to get a bit more normalcy out of this, getting something to do every day and actually doing it will build a bit of much needed self-discipline in me.
International Women’s Day! What’s your take on feminism?
uhhhhhhh I will just say, as someone that is AFAB in a country where 10 women are murdered each day in average, that I will destroy what needs to be destroyed so that the ones that come after me don't have to fear for their lives every time they get in or out of their houses.
Y la culpa no era mía, ni donde estaba, ni como vestía.
It was not my fault, neither where I was, nor what I was wearing.
I will get a bit more personal on this one entry because, yeah, heavy topic.
I was blessed to not have to endure a lot of shit that girls in my country endure each day. However I still remember very well the first time I was targeted. I was between the ages of 15 and 16, I was a freshman in high school and I had to use public transport to move from my house to the school and viceversa each day. One on my walk back home, an old man approached me, asked me the time and let me go after that, I didn't think much of it and kept on walking to my house, something felt wrong and when I looked over my shoulder the old man was following me, I'll never forget the chills i felt down my spine. I was wearing a loose red shirt, jeans and converse, and the first thought I had was "what underwear am I wearing?" because I knew that if I were to be killed people would blame it on the type of underwear I was wearing, I would be asking for it if I was wearing something small. It was the first time in a while that had run, I made it to a main street, and in it there was a hotel, I had to run in and ask for security to the girl working the front desk, I waited there for a good half an hour until the security guard told me it was probably safe to go. I ran all the way back home. I didn't tell my mum, I didn't want my new-found freedom taken away
I took some summer classes back when i was 17. 8 am I had to be in a college building taking language classes. My dad would take me to the bus station on his way to work and i would ride the bus for 15 mins till i got to the school. One day that I had forgotten to do the my homework, someone approached me, it was a kid around my age, a bit older if anything. He told me his name was Diego and asked me if we could walk together, I told him yes, I wasn't concerned at the moment, I was just thinking about doing my hw as soon as i could. We sat down in front of the building as we waited for the staff to come in and open. Once we got in, he asked me repeatedly to show him where the bathroom was. It was the first door down the hall, it said BATHROOM on big bulky letters. I was annoyed but again I was busy doing homework. My classmates went upstairs to wait for the teacher and when I tried to follow them, Diego started nagging me about how I was going to leave him alone. He grabbed me by the shoulders and tried to kiss me, I put my book between us. I could only say "Leave or I'll scream" I didnt stutter, I didnt even flinch. I knew that there was a dude ten years older than me in my class that would come if I screamed loud enough. Diego left without saying anything. I went on with my day like nothing happened, I told the older dude in my class if he and his gf could wait with me until my mum picked me up from class. Diego didnt show up after that.
So yeah, it was not my fault, neither where i was nor what i was wearing. I am lucky to still be alive today with how very little precaution I've taken in the past.
If you’ve chosen a major, why did you decide on it? If you’re in any other grade , what field/major interests you the most?
I chose Biomedical Engineering because it was a compromise, I wanted to do something related to medicine and health sciences, but I didn't want to do med school since i didn't think I'd be cut for it and I really didn't want to spend 7 years studying to just be at the bottom of the food chain in a hospital, let alone think of moving overseas. Also because of FMA:B, and yes it was Winry.
