Yoonchae x female reader, high school AU.

Reader is a transfer student. Yoonchae isn’t exactly a loser, but she’s definitely not a popular girl either—she lives in that weird in-between space of being low-profile, awkward, and super reserved.

Reader is also in that same middle ground, but in terms of social presence, she is a bit more popular than Yoonchae. It’s hard to explain 😭 she’s not a queen bee, she’s not a nobody, she’s just… noticeable. I'd say she turned heads because of her charisma—though it isn't enough to actually turn her into Regina George level fame or something.

Yoonchae ends up falling for her, and bless her awkward little heart, she keeps fumbling the bag 😭 Reader is an MPDG (manic pixie dream girl—think Ramona Flowers from Scott Pilgrim). The plot revolves around Yoonchae trying to confess her feelings before spring ends and summer break begins. The story kicks off in winter, methinks.

Basically: Yoonchae is the definition of a yearner who tries—and fails spectacularly—to confess or impress Reader. The ending is up to you: either Yoonchae actually manages to get the girl, or she chickens out completely. I'd say it's similar to the manga Go for it! Nakamura-san.

Also I like to imagine Daniela or Lara just, gets one hell of impatient because DAMN, every time yoonchae takes a step forward, she takes 2 steps back 😭🙏🏻
