Dear Earl Siward of Northumbria,

I hope you don’t mind me reaching out to you, but I was wondering if one day it would be possible for me to leave this place. I don’t mind the monastery one bit, but I’ve seen so little of the outside world. I was thinking that a good place to start would be Bamburgh and Northumbria since you may be hesitant to let me wander.

I still am unclear of why I have been placed here my whole life and why you’ve regularly come to visit me, so I hope one day you will tell me the story.

At the very least, if it’s not too much to ask, I would like to visit you at your home, someday, and maybe even meet your son. He sounds like such a wonderful person when you speak of him.
