I ducked into a bar on Beale Street in Memphis one rainy night about ten years ago and caught Anson with Sam Myers on harmonica/vocals. His pompadour was about three inches higher back then.

During a break between sets I made a slightly snarky comment about it to the girl at the merchandise table — wouldn’t you know it was Mrs. Funderburgh. Calm was restored when I bought their entire catalogue of CDs.

Moral of the story? Shut up and enjoy the music.
