A Moorhead, Minneota man has admitted shooting dead two former employees, including a pregnant one, last year after he was fired from his job at a Fargo factory.
Anthony Reese , 36, pleaded guilty to three counts of murder, including the death of an unborn child, on Wednesday, Nov. 23, in Cass County Circuit Court. Judgment is scheduled for Monday, February 6.

Reese was charged with shooting and killing Richard Pittman, 43, and April Carbone, 32, on Nov. 17 at Melet Plastics, also known as Composite America, in Fargo. Pittman and Reese fought at the factory over the machines, according to court documents. A colleague said Reese was fired and asked to leave. He got into another fight with Pittman, pulled out his gun and shot Pittman four times, prosecutor Ryan Younggren said Wednesday. Reese then pointed the gun at Carbone and shot her twice as she fled, according to court documents. He then fled and threw away his gun before turning himself in to the Fargo Police Department, according to court documents. Prosecutors eventually pursued a rare charge in North Dakota: the murder of an unborn child. Carbone was eight months pregnant with a daughter, according to court documents. Carbone and Pittman were dating and planned to name the baby Layla, according to court documents. Reese had asked to appear in court during a plea hearing last month. His attorney, Nicole Bredahl, said Wednesday that Reese wanted to take responsibility for the shooting. Reese also said he wanted to be sentenced on Wednesday, according to Bredahl. However, the case requires an attendance survey to determine recommendations for jail time, Bredahl noted. Reese will serve at least four years in prison for using a dangerous weapon in the murders. He could face life in prison without parole, the maximum sentence for a murder charge in North Dakota. Family members of the victims are arriving from the East Coast to speak at the sentencing hearing, Younggren said. Judge Wade Webb ordered Reese to be held without bond pending sentencing.
