ELKAIM: "Sleeping With The Devil" Exhibitions

Aaron's latest essay, "Sleeping With The Devil" was recently awarded the 2012 Daylight Photo Award, and was selected as an Honourary Mention in the AnthropoGraphia 2012 competition. There are two places currently to see this work exhibited: World Press Photo - Anthropographia Exhibition: Montréal, Canada, until September 30, 2012. Daylight Project Space in Hillsborough, NC, opening September 28th and on display until December 31, 2012.

Photojournalist Marc Ellison spent last summer working with female, former child soldiers in war-ravaged northern Uganda. Conscious of resentful attitudes to journalists, Ellison adopted a unique, "anthropographic" approach in his examination of the issues these former combatants continue to face in their post-conflict lives: He helped them tell their own stories.

It's a departure from the approach of other activists, including the controversial Invisible Children campaign to raise awareness about alleged war crimes perpetrated by Ugandan rebel leader Joseph Kony.

Chien-Chi Chang, a Taiwanese American photographer, his latest works "Escape From North Korea" just got the multimedia prize of 2011 Anthropographia Award For Human Rights. It's a photo collection of a person escape from North Korea.
