Being a Jew in America right now is so bizarre. The president's right hand man endorses a far-right German party that wants to remove Holocaust memorials and ban the sale of kosher meat, members of the ruling party are doing nazi salutes at rallies, and standing members of congress openly repeat conspiracy theories about the Rothschilds and Jewish space lasers. Then you see a news article about antisemitism and it's like "we need to do something about all these college students protesting mass killings."
So at what point did people forget that "transvestigating" refers to "conspiracy theorists measuring celebrities' nose bridges and waist-to-hip ratios with digital calipers to 'prove' that every single person in the public eye is secretly transgender and was 'inverted' by the J- sorry um. by The Global Elites" and not "a trans person finds an internet comic relatable"
At Trump's rally tonight he got up on stage and told everyone they won't have to worry about the "shylocks" at the banks anymore. The New York Times liveblogged it and apparently didn't bother to cover the part of the speech where the President started ranting about the "bankers". Why bother I guess

“HH” is a nazi dog whistle, and has been for way longer than Hazbin has existed. It will always call to mind “heil hitler” before any fandom meaning.
Please, just say “hazbin” if you want to shorten it. Or use “hazho” or “haho” if you wanna shave off a few more letters.

Autistic aro culture is not fully understanding why people treat cheating like it should get the death penalty.
I remember when John Mulaney was caught cheating on his wife that there was a huge outrage about it, with people going as far to boycott him and, at least from what I've heard, literally wishing he was dead. Like yeah, cheating's a shitty thing to do and he really should've just talked to his wife about what problems he had in the relationship, but I've always felt like the reactions it was getting from people was incredibly extreme.
as an autistic aro who used to feel this way, the main thing is the trust and communication of boundaries. it's not about the monogamy - it's about the major, explicit/implicit boundary being broken, which begs the question of how many boundaries they are actually following. you don't know if they are telling you the truth about any boundaries they agreed to if they break a major one.
think of it as someone befriending you, being fairly aware of an nice to you about being autistic, and then learning that they send their autistic child to ABA therapy. you thought they were nice and trustworthy, but that's a hugely awful thing to learn about them. you'd be reevaluating a lot of your interactions. you'd wonder what makes you different, you'd have questions, you'd probably be pretty damn upset.
in the case of John Mulaney - iirc the intensity of the response was significantly more about the whole can of worms that came out with the news of his cheating. it seemed that he maybe had been making jokes about his wife being Jewish that she didn't like or appreciate, it seemed that he'd lied about having that consent to cultivate a public personality. it turned out he also struggled with addiction, and while I think it's inappropriate to act like that's a personality flaw, a huge amount of people do, and the public outcry was a combo of all of those coming out at once. also, he was a celebrity - people with huge amounts of fans are likely to have more extreme opinions expressed about them than the everyday person.
i have more thoughts - like how it's an everyday trauma that a lot of people have not processed, and therefore likely to promote more trauma-based reactions - but broadly, it's not about the cheating as a function of exclusive, monogamous relationships. it's about a boundary that was understood by those in a relationship being violated in ways that make you question your trust in their intentions, and how many parts of their life that lack of respect for boundaries might have been occurring.

The Unofficial Homestuck Collection was indeed taken down*, despite official Homestuck companies' and Homestuck creator Andrew Hussie's previous statements in support of the software, an independent desktop app that can allow the reading of Homestuck as it was originally intended before the death of Flash.

The actual reason why was provided by the provocateur Gio, who after previously collaborating with Sarah Z and Lady Emily to inflate conflict with members of the What Pumpkin company, including Andrew Hussie, posted a couple of articles today that outline the circumstances leading up to him having ownership of the UHC, and subsequently the UHC being taken down by Homestuck.
I will not be linking the articles so as not to give them more attention that they have already recieved.
Gio explicitly misgenders Hussie twice in the below excerpts. I wouldn't count use of he/him pronouns on Hussie as misgendering, as they use any/all pronouns, but it is notable that Gio only uses he/him to refer to them. Along with calling them an "angry man" twice, and tying that into the thesis of his argument, makes his intent behind these lines read rather vindictive and transmisogynistic,
It's worth noting that Hussie's professional colleagues, with whom Gio has posted thousands of words worth of Discord correspondences, generally refer to them with they/them pronouns, so it's not like Gio has an excuse to not know Andrew is nonbinary. He's just misgendering her, except he's not just misgendering her, he's doing so and making that an important pillar of his argument.
Then there's this, which, yeah he changed it and 'apologized' but it seems like an almost textbook example of Schrödinger's Douchebag.
Gio's previous articles caused a massive harassment campaign against the Homestuck team(s) and caused many creatives, especially trans women, to quit from the harassment. Something he himself seems to relish in;
Also, he openly admits to these conflicts which he had with (largely trans women, wonder why) members of Homestuck teams past and present.
And yet, his primary argument is that Andrew has a singular vendetta against him and that's why the HICU is a scam.
I wonder why he has 'drama' with these three people specifically and can talk cordially with other Homestuck team members such as James Roach and Miles [no shade to those guys they're cool] (whether or not he's going to twist their words into a pretzel later).
It's almost like transparency is not Gio's motive.
