hiii welcome to the ncfom fandom!!! I have a writing request for Anton/reader with a southern gothic vibe and I wanted it to be them getting married in whichever way they choose. I can’t help but imagine Anton and reader getting married and it’s cute but with the Anton flair😭. I also I wanted to ask do you have any headcanons or thoughts of your own you wanted to share
hello hello, ty for the ask 🫡
honestly, its hard for me to write for readers/ y/n just because everyone is so different, but it especially matters with a wedding. so if you have any !reader x anton in mind i can definitely write a little scene revolving around these headcanons i have 😋🫶
i'm still open to requests on any characters!! im also an artist and WILL draw your ships/requests
but in the meantime...

i absolutely have thoughts about anton getting married because i genuinely cannot picture this man having a traditional wedding.
first and foremost, anton is not a big wedding guy. like, at all. if anything, i think he'd want to elope. he wants the absolute bare minimum amount of ceremony, people, paperwork, decorations, etc. because why would he want a giant event where everyone is documenting his existence 😭
i imagine it being very simple, which honestly is where the southern gothic vibe fits really well with anton, because you can get that atmosphere without either of you actually trying that hard. an old courthouse, a little chapel, somewhere surrounded by trees, whatever. just the two of you, the person officiating, and then you're done.
and he would 100% want to keep it small, not just because he hates fuss, but because the less evidence there is that this marriage happened, the better.
that's not because he doesn't care about you, but because when his job is killing people, having a trace back to you makes you a variable anton would rather not have.
i mean, there are no giant wedding albums. no registry. no guest book with 80 signatures. no elaborate invitations sitting in people's houses. no giant reception. you get married, you leave, and it's almost like it didn't happen.
except, of course, you have one photograph.
and i know that photograph is terrible because you're standing there looking genuinely content and anton looks like a blank slate. naturally.
i'm not even gonna lie, he would basically let you plan everything. not because he's secretly enthusiastic about the wedding— he couldn't care less about flowers or table settings or whatever— but because if you care about it, then he'll let you have it. he'll probably just give you a very flat, 'do as you like.'
you want a particular dress? fine.
you want flowers? fine.
you want a cake? fine.
you want to stand under some old oak tree at sunset? fine.
he isn't going to micromanage any of it because, to him, the actual important part is that you're getting married. everything else is just scenery and aesthetics.
and i think that's probably the closest anton gets to being traditionally romantic. not in the 'grand gesture' way, but in the very quiet 'you wanted this, so i made sure you could have it' way.
also, a southern gothic anton wedding specifically is so fitting to me because imagine this tiny, almost eerily quiet ceremony where everything is beautiful and understated, there's moss hanging from the trees, and the whole place looks like it belongs in a ghost story.
and then you look at your husband and he looks like the ghost.
but that is the most fitting thing about a marriage with anton, its almost completely devoid of spectacle. just you, anton, a ring, a signature, and one photograph.
