Carla Jean x Anton Chigurh Headcanons
Anton never tells her “I love you.” Instead, sometimes he’ll just sit there silently watching her for several minutes.
2. He doesn’t sleep in the same bed out of habit. Sometimes he sits in a chair beside the bed and watches her sleep.
3. There are days when Anton disappears without warning. He comes back days later, takes a shower, sits down, and acts as if nothing happened. Carla Jean doesn’t ask. Asking would mean admitting that she cares more than she should.
4. He never raises his voice at her. He always speaks in the same low, precise tone. Somehow, that unsettles her more than if he were yelling.
5. Carla Jean realizes she’s no longer surprised when she finds blood on his clothes. She just washes it.
6. Anton doesn’t celebrate anything. Birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries none of it.
7. She keeps a picture of Llewelyn hidden away. Anton knows exactly where it is. He never touches it tho. (Carla doesn't know that HE knows 😭)
8. When Anton is injured, he doesn’t complain. Carla Jean takes care of him in silence. Sometimes, while cleaning one of his wounds, she thinks about how she’s taking care of the same thing that destroyed her life.

10. Sometimes, in the middle of the night, Anton gets up and checks every lock, every window, and the perimeter.
11. Carla Jean always sleeps with one eye open. Even though Anton has accepted her into his life, she knows perfectly well that if she breaks any of his strict “rules” or moral codes, the coin will be coming out of his pocket again.
12. If someone disrespects Carla Jean, Anton doesn’t react immediately. However, that man will disappear or suffer an “accident” a couple of days later.
13. While Carla Jean tries to fill the emptiness of the house by playing music on the radio to make things feel normal, Anton is capable of sitting on the couch for hours in complete silence, without blinking.
