Day #18: Royal/Dirt Poor AU
They still met when they were friends and before things changed for both of them.
Dan had lost his family to a blazing fire, having to survive on what he could scavenged through the trash spiraled out on the streets.
Emma was birthed into a royal household, taking steps in her parents' path so she could hold the title of Queen when she becomes older.
Wandering through the streets, she stumbles across an old and almost forgotten friend. Horrified to see him in such a terrible state, she begged and begged for her parents to allow him to live in the castle, unwilling to give up until her pleads became reality.
