thinking more about my HSR version of yaya and how he'd be a halovian.. but not pureblooded! he'd be half wingweaver, too. and since wingweavers are forged of caste systems/societal structures, they probably took one look at him and said "ew this baby's ugly" and clipped his wings
because if he doesn't look like them, then they don't want this more-terrestrial looking child in their skies. they never even gave him a chance, and stripped him of all choice.
