i don't think i'll get a ship ask so i'll just anthy/utena myself:

The umbrella, when it rains - Utena

The popcorn at the cinema - Utena

The baby, when it cries - I was going to say Anthy but somehow i can see them both being kind of bad w babies and small children lmao.  Headcanon: either might, but while Utena may be slightly frazzled at handling the baby and Anthy has a gentle smile and cradle, Anthy may be a bit too apathetic at sensing what they want, emotionally. In that case, Utena.  

The ice cream cone, when they share - Utena

The remote, when they sit down to watch a movie - Anthy

Now, if your life was an animated feature, what art style would you want to have it in? 

Some cross between the styles of Hayao Miyazaki (for concept and background) and Satoshi Kon (for symbolism and people)

like gos h i love the sense of scale and form in ghibli films, the flow and shift of cinematography in satoshi kon's dang ans that's gorgeous!!!!!

idk that question got me imagining things and reminiscing  so

i would like the subtle mood setting of colour and light that anime like Mushishi utilises I think,

but also the mix of surrealness and quaintness of lineart/shading and certain cinematographic scenes that I've seen in say, Natsume Yuujinchou, Kamichu and Honey & Clover.

Definitely the combined scale and closeness of background settings of Kamichu, Uchouten Kazoku, Ghibli features.

In terms of animated movement and expression, 

- the light and quietly energy-filled style of Oofuri,

- the leisurely smoothness and shifting of pace (from light to quick to dragging to hurried) of Uchouten Kazoku or Samurai Champloo,

- bursts of pulse-exciting energy as with Yowamushi Pedal 

- Kill la Kill's bold, expressive movement (especially w Ryuuko) (god i love Klk's art style)

other things like:

- the different bits of wide angle cinematography in The Girl Who Leapt Through TIme

- the cheering colour schemes, little movements, placement of elements in Gatchaman Crowds

- a character design art style that doesn't jar while not over-monotoning (?word idk) the diversity of character faces, races, shapes, movement etc..

jasmine tea: an unpopular opinion that i have

I am not v in tune w societal things/fandom opinions so idk which are unpopular.  Did get quite some flake for talking about supporting/history of gay, trans etc people, with peers tho so I guess there's that.  Also, I think cosplay of fem versions of characters isn't as traitorous as some of the community make it out to be??

Gosh nearly all the guys are trash (but such complex trash) ermm it'll be a showdown between Miki Kaoru and Ruka Tsuchiya.

Obviously Miki is a must in the ultimate friendship hug. He's a good kid really.. Even so, like most of the crew, he fell in love with an idea of a person, and dragged person(s) into trouble bc of that..

 Ruka..... I may be wrong but he really seemed to want to help Juri overcome the pain and bitterness of that previous relationship (that they kind of shared), and idk I Feel Things. 

❤ Favorite Female:

How do I pick one.  I'll choose Juri.  She's just so amazing and one of the most clear-headed characters and she knows her crush is dysfunctional but it's so hard for her to let go of those feelings...

❤ Favorite Pairing:

Anthy x Utena. Look I really like how Utena plays bestest friends knight and all, and Anthy acts submissive and docile - but then it is Anthy who takes the initiative, Anthy who grips Utena's hand. i just.

❤ Least Favorite Character:

Akio.  Like wow I kind of love-hate the somewhat offscreen evolution of his character and motives, and how the utena theme of romanticising/idealising is applied to him, but ultimately I Get Really Pissed At Akio.

❤ who’s most like me: 

Went through a lot of "But I am not as __ as __" here, hmmm a lot of the character narratives are depicted in some line of romantic love/longing so this was difficult to decide - 

Wakaba?  I'd be as in love of and as proud of utena, as she would be tbh.  At her age, I might too have made some embarrassing and honest piece to a crush, and be as devastated at the betrayal.  Gratitude is also quite gratifying to me too...

UTENA. also Juri. Juri x Utena is also very attractive. yum

i am writing friend a story and copy pasting from here sh.

(i hummed and hawed a lot on which to answer but here's a story off the top of my head bc it's past bedtime and stuff)

There once was a giant who was so towering tall, that if he stood to full height he could see the curve of the world far in the horizon on a good day. But the giant so loved the world beneath his feet, he always stooped.  He learnt that if he simply bent, the grasses beneath him would wilt under his shadow, so he learnt to curl and make himself small so that he may sit among them

He loved to simply watch the green world around him in motion. He learnt that his slightest footstep could cause tremors that frightened all creatures away. So he learnt to stand so still and motionless that moss and grass grew on him, masking his scent with their greenness and creatures grew unwary and made their homes on him.  The giant's joy was so quiet but so great that from time to time he could not hold back his gentle vibrations of joy - the speaking creatures called these the mountain's quaking and made worried motions and noises at times, so the giant did his best to still his quells of happiness.

Great lengths of time went by and greenness grew thick over the (almost) ever still giant.  He had been witness to a great many sprouting, blooming and fading of lives. Even the gentle giant was not impervious to time - wizen wrinkles formed on its earthy, gradually flaking skin - nor to temptation - oh! How many times had the giant wished to stretch a finger out to aid some of the very small beings - but he persevered patiently.

The giant could have had the sky, the stars even, but he chose the earth and its life.

??? if this continued i dk i guess it might not be as happy????? so i'll end it here. what would happen is eventually the giant too must sleep and he wakes up to find the world dim and dying and also that he collapsed back/sideways at some point i guess WHOOPS

at which point he wanders (carefully) the world in search of life. when that fails i guess he stands up for the stars. or maybe he does find life and he gives them a lift to the stars. or maybe he helps them regrow sth of the earth idk. haha if he gives them a lift so that they may join the space colonies, does that mean he is doomed to stay and wait for the planet to die sob i am terrible.

maybe he'll be the new world himself and the peoples build an atmosphere and stuff on him and he floats and drifts (and swim) around space, that might be more optimistic idk.
