AXIS POWERS
Germany - Ludwig Beilschmidt & Monika Beilschmidt
Monika was the only one who occupied his mind in whatever he does, and he often finds himself doing things in an attempt to impress her; such as exaggerating the numbers during his chest workouts and push-ups. She was the only woman he felt comfortable with, and his strong feelings for her frustrated him at first, since it was a complete distraction when it comes to serious work. Realizing that he was in love with her, Ludwig kept it in for weeks. At one point, he tried to confess, but he ended up stammering and blushing that he had to pathetically changed the subject. Since then, he had been acting differently and avoiding Monika, much to her frustration. When Monika confronted him about his behaviour, she expressed how much it hurt her, and she never understood why he was doing so because she can’t think of anything she had done wrong. At her words, Ludwig admitted how foolish he was acting, and confessed that he held deep feelings for her, and that he couldn’t imagine being with anyone else but her.
Italy - Felciano Vargas & Feliciana Daisy Vargas
Feliciano would take every chance to be around Feliciana – whether it was helping her with groceries, or hanging out to run some errands; he would take every chance to hang out with her just to flirt with her. Why? He could not deny that he began to feel strong affections for his female counterpart. He would put a great effort into their friendship, simply to see that delighted look on her face. He occasionally showers her with presents, offers to help her cook, and he often found himself drawing portraits of her when he was in an artistic mood. As those strong affections run deeper by time, Feliciano would find himself at a loss of what he should do and seek advice from Francis – who gives him the encouragement to tell Feliciana how he truly feels. With that encouragement, Feliciano would head to her house (uninvited and inconsiderate that she may be busy). It was only lucky that she was available, but she was rather surprised by his appearance. His seriousness and anxious looks made Feliciana feel concerned, until Feliciano took her hands in his and confessed his feelings to her.
Japan - Kiku Honda & Sakura Honda
Kiku was very good at hiding his feelings. While he was particularly fond of Sakura, and cherished every moment he spends with her, it frustrated him to know how scared he was to confess. He had been in love with his fellow counterpart for a long time, and while he knows that he was very close to her, he was still unsure if she felt the same way. It wasn’t until one evening, when he and Sakura were having tea whilst staring up at the orange-hued sky, he decided to approach the subject and inquire her if she ever had some sort of unusual, strong feelings for anyone. Surprisingly enough, Sakura would answer ‘yes’ – which sparked hope within Kiku. When Sakura (shyly) inquired the same question, he answered the same, and thinking that now was the chance, he would begin to describe this special someone in a very fond way, with a smile gracing his features and a light blush on his cheeks (while his eyes were glued to the evening sky), and then turn to her and say, “I’ve always felt this way about you.”
ALLIES
America - Alfred F. Jones & Amelia Jones
Like Ludwig, Alfred would be doing things to impress Amelia; such as strengthening his pitch whenever they were playing baseball and constantly offers to help her out in her errands just to show her that he was a true ‘hero’ and that she could always rely on him. Amelia simply saw it as something sweet. While Alfred knows that his feelings are deep, it always freaked him out to say it out loud, even though his confidence is displayed. In public, he does his best to keep her attention on him, and would hold her hand almost all the time. It made Amelia feel shy, but Alfred brushed it off. One day, when they were hanging out, a little kid passed by and questioned Alfred if Amelia was his girlfriend. Before Amelia could answer, Alfred confidently (with red cheeks) answered yes. When the kid asked if he loved her, Alfred hesitated for a while, then answered with a wink, “Yup. I do love her and I plan to keep it that way.” When the parents finally dragged their kid away in shame, Alfred turned to Amelia and quietly told her, “You better think twice if you thought I was joking.”
Russia - Ivan Braginsky & Anya Braginskaya
It wasn’t a simple infatuation anymore. Ivan felt that his feelings were running deeper for Anya. He couldn’t stop thinking about her, and he simply sees her wherever he goes. She was the only one that understood him, never judged him, and stuck by his side all through. Anya was beautiful…her presence was becoming a drug to him…How could he not fall in love with her? Whenever he and Anya were on an outing, Ivan found himself leaning in close to her, and finding an excuse to let her link arms with him, or wrap his arms over her shoulder so that other people around would see them as a couple. He would listen to Anya intently as she spoke, but instead of cooperating with the conversation, he was unbelievably quiet, and it wasn’t unnoticed by Anya, who held a concerned expression and questioned if everything was alright. Ivan did not answer, but instead, he turned to her, looking unusually serious, and allowed his strong arms to wrap around her waist and pull her so close that their bodies touched, then stare down at her, taking in her features as he whispered, “Every time I look at you, I can’t help but fall in love with you even more…”
England - Arthur Kirkland & Alice Kirkland
Confessing was never Arthur’s forte. He never had the confidence to step up and declare his love to someone he was smitten with. Why? Because he had no idea how to be expressive like that. He also refused to seek advice from anyone. It made him feel like a complete mess…because for a long time, he had been trying to put a finger on the warm feeling that soared inside him when he was with Alice. He even thought that he was under a spell and tried to find any counter-spell to reverse it (but of course, he was unsuccessful and realized that he was acting pathetic). It frustrated him, and it made him cranky for several days. It went unnoticed by Alice, who was putting up with his sour mood until she was sick of how she felt like she was being pushed away by him. At first, when Alice approached him, she was gentle – but his sarcasm and foul mood made her lose her temper, and demand what in the bloody hell was getting his knickers in a twist. They argued for a long 10 minutes, until Arthur yelled, “Do you want to know what’s wrong with me?! I am completely enamored with you and it is driving me completely bonkers!”
France - Francis Bonnefoy & Marianne Bonnefoy
There was a reason why some nations usually seek advice from Francis. It was no denying that he was an expert on love. At times what he says can be misleading, but Francis had the knowledge of how to be creative in declarations of love. An important advice he gives was taking your time to let out your feelings – but not too much time. And Francis was doing just that. He was buying enough time to finally tell Marianne how he truly felt about her. Marianne – enchanting, beautiful, elegant, and desirable in every way, had managed to capture his heart. She had become the receiving end of Francis’ affections, but not once did she hear him utter the words that will connect their hearts forever. Francis wanted that moment to be special. He would begin by letting flowers speak for him. One day, Marianne received Amaryllises – a symbol for splendid beauty. It flattered her deeply because her beauty was indeed splendid. The second day, Francis sent a Gladiolus flower – a symbol for strength of character, faithfulness, honor. Marianne’s best quality was her strength of character. The third day, it was the Hydrangea flower – a symbol for heartfelt emotions. The emotions that Francis held for her were so deep and so strong – a burning desire for her. The fourth day, she received Irises – a symbol for eloquence. Another one of Marianne’s best qualities. The fifth day, she received Lilacs – youthful innocence and confidence – it speaks so much about her. The sixth day, it was rather special; she received Tulips – a declaration of love – it confused her, making her aware of something she couldn’t exactly put her finger on, until the seventh day, she found Francis standing at her door, dressed handsomely while holding a rose – a symbol for love. With that genuine smile on his face, Francis stepped closer to her, placed a hand on the side of her face, leaned in close and whispered, “Je t’aime, Mon amour…” before closing the gap between their lips.
China: Wang Yao & Wang Chun Yan
It was pathetic really – an embodiment of a country that lasted for 4,000 years is feeling anxious about letting someone he was fond of know how he feels. He really couldn’t help it…she excited him in every way. How was it possible that he could finally find someone who matched him? Never mind that they were two halves of a country, she was his half in everything! It frustrated him that he was acting like a 13-year-old teenager…but then again, the emotions he felt were really strong. So strong that he needed some time alone to think about it all rationally. He hated it when things were not rational with him. For a week, he had spoken to Chun Yan less, and remained disturbingly quiet and serious about many things, and disappear unusually without telling anyone. It worried Chun Yan, who was bombarded by questions if something was wrong with Yao, but she couldn’t give an answer because she was wondering the exact same thing. It wasn’t until one day, Yao decided to take Chun Yan out with him; to the secret Chinese garden that he constantly vanished to, and began to question if she once felt such strong emotions for someone. (The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, does it?) When Chun Yan didn’t answer directly and instead asked why is he asking this sort of thing, he hesitates for a while, then stands before her, staring directly at her eyes with a yearning look in his eyes as he tells her that he had been feeling like this for her, and that he was completely enamored with her, and that he wanted her to know he was completely happy just by being with her.

Well, when it comes to couples, that’ll be hard to choose. Because it’s almost everything about each other. But if you’re looking for a specific thing:
America: Alfred F. Jones & Amelia Jones
Alfred: Alfred loves Amelia’s enthusiasm. She just knew how to have fun with him in whatever he did. Video games, sports, food… She knew how to keep up with his pace, and she was just very supportive in whatever he did. He loved how she was easy to talk to, and how he can easily get comfortable with her. There is no such thing as fun for him when she is not around. She was the hero’s girl. His girl.
Amelia: His optimism. He was always cheerful and energetic in whatever the situation was. He’s also funny and very supportive of her in every sense. She feels that without him around, there isn’t really much of an America.. He knew when to pick his fun time, and she loves how Alfred always drags her along with him. If no one else considers him as a hero, he was always her hero.
England: Arthur Kirkland & Alice Kirkland
Arthur: He loves that she knows what he needed. Alice was a different woman to him. She shares his humor and shares similar insights with magic and fantasy. Whenever he was troubled, she would listen to him. Only with him, she would show that she cares, even though Arthur had troubles showing that side of himself. She was rather stubborn at times, but he was fond of that stubbornness because it was out of affection.
Alice: His gentleman manner despite some flaws that don’t really support that. She admires how he can be quite cool and collected, and at the same time he is quite a punk. That is something they share and she knows it. She was aware of many things about him that other nations might not find likable, but she was okay with it. She knew how to handle it, because she wouldn’t have him any other way. He wasn’t very expressive, just like she is, but she knows that he cares, and she sees that.
France: Francis Bonnefoy & Francine Bonnefoy
Francis: Her elegance. Francine simply attracts him. She was a beauty, and she was simply exquisite with her manners and expression of what he would consider as love. He would really take the trouble of going through many things to impress her, because despite her arrogance, she was rather passionate of who she loved, and that was one of the factors that Francis would fall in love with.
Francine: His passion! Every time she would look at Francis, he radiates with passion and he would never give up on love despite the hardships. She also adores how he appreciates her in every sense, and would simply go through lengths to pleasure her. Francis himself, to her, was love. He always expressing his love to her in many ways with her, and she would always treasure that about him. They simply match each other in passion, and she wouldn’t ask for more.
Russia: Ivan Braginsky & Anya Braginskaya
Ivan: Ivan adores nothing more but Anya simply being there. Whenever Ivan had doubts, Anya was there to lift his spirit up. Whenever he felt down, or sad, or simply in a state where he cannot pick himself up, Anya was there to comfort him, reassuring him that it will all be okay. He would certainly do the same for her when she felt that way. She was always by his side no matter what. Whenever he was with her, he never felt alone. Anya was also compassionate with him, and without her, he wouldn’t ever feel complete. He wouldn’t dare to lose her for anything.
Anya: His smile and gentleness. She simply admires how Ivan can smile, no matter what the rough times were. Only to her, Ivan would show his real emotions.. and it made her feel special. When she needed him, Ivan was already there to wipe the tears or to make her smile. She knows how he can be very gentle, and how he can be rough. She simply knows him. He was the person she would go to just because. His presence is comforting and it made her feel warm. When he was there, there was nothing more that she wanted.
China: Wang Yao & Wang Chun-Yan
Yao: He likes that Chun-Yan is always so cheerful as she keeps up with his pace. She matched him in many ways. Besides, they have both lived for a very long time, and witnessed so much. He loved that when he was around her, he would feel more relaxed. The fact that she appreciated food as much as he did was just one of the reasons why he held a huge soft spot for her.
Chun-Yan: Yao’s love for cute things and cooking is what she finds the most endearing. Even though they were both too old for it, she loved how he simply appreciates it. She enjoyed the way we he cooks food as well, and how he appreciates and takes care of the taste and detail of whatever he cooks. She simply gets along with him easily as they are both cheerful. They both know how to handle whatever comes their way, and the fact that they both keep up with the same pace is simply all that it takes for them to go through anything together.
