Title: Last Dance
Pairing: Nyo!Belarus/Nyo!Lithuania (there is also some Nyo!EstKraine in the writing below this if you squint or because I don’t use names it can be any Nyo!Ukraine pairing featuring a character with bad eye sight of your choice)
For: Liz (Aph-Mexicos)
"His coughing was getting progressively worse but still he danced alone in the ball room of the mansion his sister gave to him. His children never visited him much after their mother had died. He couldn’t blame them - he was so distant after all especially after such loss, but at least his brother’s children and grandchildren came over at the advice of his brother’s wife. They had just come by the other day bearing a gift and leaving with a message from Nikolai to his children to come by soon.
The gift was a record, a recording of his brother playing the piano and his brother’s wife playing the violin decades ago. Nikolai wondered why the now blind wife would bare to part with the piece after all this time. Without her sight, the recording were a comfort for her, but maybe she just knew Nikolai’s failing health and gave him one last gift, a gift from her and his deceased brother.
So, with his joints aching and chest in pain, he danced quietly in the night listening the record over and over. Even with the pain, there was the ease of decades of practice. It was his own comfort for being so alone.
He felt suddenly a hand brush his cheek and, where just before his hand laid against air, a hip. He blinked, and a young woman was dancing with him with her hand hand in his. Brown hair pulled in a side braid and dressed in a green dress. He didn’t know whether to smile or cry.
For now he knew that this would be the last dance in this mansion but the first in decades and hopefully for centuries with his wife.”

And to pair with the budding romance of children, the love of a dying man for his wife. I actually came up with a whole background story for this. I also really wanted to do the Luxembourg/Lithuania one as a medieval AU (with Lux as a young Prince and Liet as a young knight), but I really couldn’t figured out how the picture would be.
