Manila as a startup hub

Most of the tasks on this stage of our start-up involves a lot of driving around the city to meet suppliers and to check out types of paper, while client interactions are via online or phone conversations. As business partners, however, we make it a point to have face-to-face sit-down meetings to check up on our weekly tasks and brainstorm on how we can turn creation into business.

It is a good time to be a young entrepreneur in Manila. We are a tech savvy cohort molded by foreign exposures that we readily apply. We live in a culture where failure is not looked upon as shame but a chance to try another route (that comes with the sure support of a loose network of relatives and friends). I get the feeling because young entrepreneurs can YOLO it in their business, there is a return to creativity, emotion and intellect.

We aim to take Aphinitea to a global scale, but right now we are where we should be. //FR
