Apollo's child reverbnation Apollo's Child (formerly The Black Room) is a London based, multi-cultural rock band with a signature sound consisting of Jaakko’s 4 octave vocal range and Daniele’s technical yet melodic guitar playing. Their... influences range from artists such as Queen, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Skid Row, Whitesnake, The Cult and Alice In Chains, to more modern day rockers such as Alter Bridge and Sixx: AM. Overall the sound of Apollo's Child could be described as an original mix of their heroes’ from the 60's, 70's and 80's with a contemporary production. Every song is written to be it’s own, dynamic number - catchy, melodic and poetic. The band's story started when Jaakko and charismatic Night by Night/Sisters of Mercy guitarist Ben Christo shared the stage, playing in an all-star band at Trash Fest in Helsinki, Finland back in 2010. They quickly became friends and Ben invited Jaakko to London to write music with him. These sessions lead to finding the first steps of the unique sound of Apollo's Child. Ben introduced Jaakko to Daniele Panza, the gifted, Italian solo guitarist who's skills do not fade in comparison to virtuosos like Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Reb Beach or Slash. His unique playing style combined with Jaakko’s unique vocal tone and range, and the chemistry the boys share in songwriting are the band’s most distinguishable characteristics. They were joined by the marvelous Ash Porter on bass and are currently looking to complete their rhythm section with a new drummer. In the past 12 months they have finished writing and recording their debut 5 song EP and have played packed shows (with Dan Brown on drums) at some of the most legendary venues around London, such as Camden Underworld, Intrepid Fox and Barfly, where they supported the top 10 artist Jaycee Lewis.
