Okay but you know what would hurt more? Jeam where they were in love but never confessed their feelings officially, and ended up missing their chance to ever do so. 

It’s not the locking up that’s painful, but Seam gradually seeing Jevil become corrupted into someone else, someone so different from who he loved. From two people who perfectly understood each other, something that should’ve been inalienable to something twisted, foreign. It’s watching all that you knew and loved become strange, become unknown to you.
