9/1: This was on the summit of Mt Lafayette, overlooking the first decent view of the presidential mountain range in the Whites. Having been fortunate enough to have perfect weather for my entire time there, the Whites were the most beautiful yet challenging mountains I've ever been in. While southern Maine still remains to be the hardest, I can see how bad weather can affect anyone's experience in the Whites; the strongest (and fatal) winds have been recorded on Mt Washington. #at2016 #applachiantrail2016 #appalachiantrail #appalachiantrials #thruhike #thruhiker (at Mount Lafayette)
