This one is super different to what I normally write, way more lyrical prose than what I normally try my hand at (basically I read some of k-ming chang's work and wanted to be on her level which I am severely NOT but we move). Here's the beginning to give you an idea of the vibes:
I meet a woman named Mary in the bathroom of the Wetherspoons closest to my house. She’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen; bloody lips and eyes and teeth. I stumble when I walk in because the alcohol has filled a balloon in my chest that makes me float so my feet don’t hit the ground quite right. She stares at me. As she looks me up and down her gaze rests on my chest for just a moment too long to be excusable and I push it out just a little too much to be mistakable. Not flaunting, that would be silly since there’s nothing much to flaunt, but informing her that, yes, I want you to look. Please stare at me long enough that I might be considered artwork. Make me believe I was made like this on purpose.
