Ben is the literal embodiment of the handsome stranger you see when you’re out for coffee with your friend.

You see him out of the corner of your eye and instantly, nothing else matters. Not the coffee the water just brought over, or the plate that’s wafting smells of sugar and crisp buttery pastry up to you.

He’s the handsome stranger that you watch the whole time your friend is talking, wondering who he is, what he does. Whether he like classical music or he’s a secret rock fan. Whether he takes sugar in his tea or prefers coffee. If he likes to read, and if he does, whether he’s the ‘stay up all night till your eyes are burning but you just need to finish this chapter” or “reading a chapter at a time and thinking about what you’ve read for a while”. The stranger that makes you hope no one sits opposite him, because it twists your belly with unwarranted jealousy... but at the same time, you want someone to sit opposite. To see him interact, see his lips curl up into a grin as he laughs at what his companion said, maybe see a hand run through those gorgeous deep dark locks of hair.

Ben is that stranger that you still glance at as you get your coat on, wishing for him to look up, to see what colour those eyes are behind the expensive sunglasses. Blue? No... green? Maybe not.. or brown, a brown so dark it’s almost black, so dark his irises swallow up the pupils... makes you wish that you could feel them caress your skin and send lightning through your blood, if only for a moment.

He’s the handsome stranger that dances in your dreams and whispers in your daydreams, the stranger you pray that you’ll see again one day.
