I remember when I was in Junior High(telling my age here, the call it Middle School now) and how nerdy I was. I wasn't part of the popular crowd at all, but I had a very good looking cousin who was. All the girls wanted to get noticed by him so they pretended to be friends with me. For a nerd like me it was perfect but eventually fake approval by the in crowd just didn't work for me, I understood it was genuine and I wanted to have friends that appreciated me for me. It's amazing the pressure we put on ourselves be assured of the approval of mankind, as if mans approval or disapproval of us has the power to give our presence here on earth value. I've learned through Christ that what is most important to me is that God is pleased with me, that He is pleased with my every effort to serve Him and pursue His will for my life. Knowing that God is pleased with little ole nerdy me causes me to give Him all the praise and glory that He deserves. Man's approval is fleeting, but God's acceptance of me has eternal value and that's all I need. Be blessed and bless someone else.
