Encountered the same seller today and he had yet to sell the two William Mason oils and another pastel work. I beat him down on price and obtained the best of the oils. A river scene, likely the Thames, possibly Hammersmith Bridge seen from the southern bank. Oil on board, 40x50cm and mid 20th C. The seller tells me that after the artist’s death in 2002 his estate went to probate and took years to settle. The descendants effectively cleared his house of all his remaining work which the buyer bought for a song. He has been drip-feeding these to auctions houses for a few hundred quid a time. #appscourtfarm (at Hanworth, Hounslow, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CVH8En0oH5s/?utm_medium=tumblr
