STUDYTUBE'S NEW YEAR!
Kaitlin here! I know that I talk a lot. I just have a lot to say. :)
VIDEO IDEA: What if we took advantage of the new year coinciding with the "debut" of StudyTube and made a video with our resolutions and different goals for this year?
WHY IT SOUNDS COOL: That'd be so great because I'm MASSIVELY interested in what you guys hope to achieve this year. Having common goals could help motivate us to keep working toward that goal!!!
Kaitlinthestudent's StudyTube ideas!
These are the ideas I've come up with. They are all things I feel could be beneficial, especially since I'm less of a technical studyblr (basically, I'm not hexane-and-heels who has tons of helpful posts (unfortunately)). See that little shout-out there? That's actually one of my ideas! I'll just have the keywords I have written down because it's all up for interpretation. If we all make the same videos, what's the good in it? It's all about the different takes we have in life. DIVERSITY. NOT JUST KAITLIN, although Kaitlin is great and is referring to herself in third-person.
To-do lists
favorite blogs (seeee!)
What's in my backpack (for those who don't just have mascara and paper! I always see people showing water bottles and favorite mascaras, which is perfect, but we're nerds and would elaborate more on the actual school stuff also).
my study necessities
long-distance relationships (or friendships) (which is perfect for those who are going to different colleges than those they love)
POSITIVITY AND HAPPINESS (because you know me. Literally the most positive person of all time)
Music while studying?
POWER NAPS
College apps (the process, favorite ones, least favorite ones. Maybe even just describing how you felt going through it all)
MY COLLEGES (where you talk about each one and what you love about it; really helpful when you have that "Why?" question)
ACT/SAT TEST ADVICE (THIS IS SO IMPORTANT YES)
general testing advice (maybe some tips for multiple choice, short answer, or different types of tests)
TIME MANAGEMENT
MOTIVATION
Addressing those who have no idea what to do with their life
body positivity (another huge thing for me)
dealing with disappointments (bad grades, not getting into a certain college, or just overall bad things!)
favorite apps or websites!!! We all love our apps
I'm going to make a video on band camp and band tips/tricks for all the musicians, and it might be helpful to other kids simply because I'll have time management things. Also, band hacks are cool.
DOING PRESENTATIONS OR GIVING SPEECHES. KIDS HATE THESE, but it's nothing to be afraid of!
Q&As!!! LITERAL DIRECT QUESTIONS-AND-ANSWERS
Maybe we can create a StudyTube tag video where we tag other people to answer certain questions.
Advice to freshman, sophomores, juniors, seniors, etc.
Creating a study space
easy/cheap recipes for college kids. NO MORE RAMEN, BABIES
How do I study for...? (series, where you make videos regarding "English", "Math", "History", "Physics", "Foreign Languages")
BOOKS TO READ
FAVORITE BOOKS
BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS
what to do during study breaks
color-coding!!!!!
organizing a master binder
Studying over breaks (Thanksgiving break or Spring Break)
Those are just A FEW of my ideas. I've been dreaming of doing YouTube for a very long time, and I have a feeling this could be something huge!!!!
HI I WOULD LOVE TO CONTRIBUTE TO STUDYTUBE SOME WAY SOME HOW?!
I haven’t yet even thought about how it’ll all be set up (because it’s more of a community thing and I don’t want to make all the decisions!!!), but I think it’ll be more solidified after New Year! I’m going to make my first video at some point between New Year and the 5th! Because it’ll be after the holidays, and I’ll be able to just sit down alone and start this up! I’m excited!
First, make an account, obviously! Maybe have it linked somewhere and get it all set up for when you can upload videos and junk!
If someone wants to make a StudyTube tumblr page or something, that’d be fantastic! I can do it, too, but I’m really wanting you guys to be involved as much as possible!!!!
The Potential Creation of "AppTube"/"StudyTube".
So, we all know "Appblr" and "Studyblr".
But what if we made a community on YouTube?
There are A LOT of us. There are a LOT of students who don't run studyblrs or anything but still need to study.
We're needed.
Lots of kids don't look to Tumblr for study tips because Tumblr isn't as big as Facebook.
But everyone knows YouTube.
I think "AppTube" (if everyone's cool with that name) has a lot of potential!
spreading knowledge around the Internet.
People are more willing to watch a video than read a post. Trust me on that.
We could have corresponding posts (a post that goes with each video)
Videos on YouTube won't get covered up with Harry Potter gifs or our Ferguson things or political things. It'll help us keep organized with all of our study tips or posts or anything like that.
I have TONS of video ideas. Literally a few pages of bullet-point ideas on my google docs.
IT'S A WAY TO EXPERIENCE EVERYONE! Accents or different types of people are more obvious when they're talking or you can see them. (For instance, I live somewhere where I've never met someone who wasn't Christian, Catholic, or Atheist; through Tumblr, I've met SO MANY different people, but I don't experience their appearance or voice or culture as much as I'd like BCUZ UR ALL CUTE)
Comments are stored in a specific spot and are easy to respond to.
You can share it on Tumblr easily.
IT'S FREE, TOO.
We wouldn't judge editing. We all know webcams can be crappy.
It'll help people with talking to an audience and getting confidence to post things!
We can interact with videos.
REALLY CONSIDER IT. It's a cool thing to consider. We can all brainstorm video ideas when we need to. It'll be a community there, too.
It's going to be great. Would anyone else be interested in the "project"?
EDIT: We have an official page now! Studytube can be found here. My friend has also made a post announcing it here if you want to reblog that maybe!
