i don’t get why people think it’s their business if people are identifying as ace because of trauma
spoiler alert: it’s really not your business. forcing people to accept gay/bi/pan labels because they decided they were asexual after trauma is NOT the answer to help them heal from said trauma. it’s rude and kind of disgusting to have this idea that you are well-meaning when you invalidate someone’s entire identity because YOU don’t see the merit in having an a-spec label. if someone wants to push themself into re-discovering a healthy relationship with their sexual attraction, that is between them and their support group, and their journey is their own. no internet rando gets a say, because it’s not their fucking place. the pressure to ‘give in’ to sexual attraction on tumblr is weird and y’all need to rethink why you’re so invested in other people’s business, especially when it involves something as personal as sex and trauma.
like dude... if you tried applying some critical thinking to the situation you would realize that there is nothing wrong with using asexuality as a coping mechanism. or as not a coping mechanism! or for people to just... change their minds.
people are allowed to change their minds, and they aren’t automatically wrong to decide somewhere along the line that they are a-spec. anyone who has an issue with that needs to reevaluate.

As someone who's 5'7", we do place a HUGE amount of masculinity on height and e DO often make things targeting only tall men.
Oh as a trans dude it’s incredibly apparent to me that we do that. Like, basically all I wear any more is sweat pants because I can’t find jeans that fit me even in the kids section.
