So, I got my April Ipsy about two weeks ago (Theme: Beautifully Bohemian). And I’ve tried the products, so I can give a proper review. I have been subscribed to Ipsy for a few months. Since August 2014. And I must say I love it. It’s always fun for me to get a bag full of new makeup goodies, every month. And it has really curbed my wish to buy all the makeup at every store I go into (I only partially have that now). As you can probably guess, I love makeup. And so this is a little treat for me to get every month. If you read my review, and find that you really want to join Ipsy, which you would get five samples/full sized products, for only $10 a month. If you find that you want it, I have a link you can go through to get it, just ask me for it, or express interest to me for getting Ipsy.
Now time for my review. I shall go from Right to Left. Reviewing the products.
First off, the Nail Polish (Julie G nail polish): Now, I would say I’m not a great Nail Polish reviewer, because I don’t really use it. But even though I don’t usually have strong opinions on nail polish. I do have one for this one. That opinion being that I would never use it. The formula is very runny, and the color is defiantly not for me. I was not too happy to get this as one of my samples. And I would not buy this in a store.
Secondly, The Eye Shadow (The Balm, Naked Dude Pallet): This one, I have a much better review for. My first impression of it was this, I LOVE it. The formula is nice, and not chalky. It is very pigmented. And it makes me want to buy more makeup from The Balm. But even though I love it, there is a downside. As there always is with products. The downside for this one has to do with the color. It is a lovely color, and I love using it. But it is not the best for my skin tone. It has an orange hue to it, and I have a hard time finding a time to use it. I have really light, cool toned skin. And so it doesn’t fit well with my skin tone. But still I will use it, and I most defiantly buy more products from The Balm as time goes on.
Thirdly, the Lip and Cheek Tint ( Mullein & Sparrow): If it was the color that it appears in the tin, I would really like it. But there is barely any color, so it is more like a gloss than a tint. It is very moisturizing, but since there is no color, I find no time to use it. For I often use Lip Balm, that I keep in my purse. I would be afraid to keep this in my purse, because it is very soft, and I don’t want it to melt while in my purse. The good thing about it is that there is no paraffin in it (I will never use a lip balm that has paraffin in it.). So my overall thought of this product, is that it is okay. Just okay.
Fourth, the Eye Primer (Mica Beauty): A few days after I got my bag, I got an email saying that a lot of people were complaining about discoloration. I did not have discoloration in mine, so I actually was able to try it (if it had discoloration, I would most likely not use it). And I have to say, I like it. I use it as my regular eye primer. Before I had this, I was using the Maybelline color tattoo. This Eye Primer is good, and last a long time. Although due to the price, I am unlikely to buy, I will be using it quite often.
And the final one, the Lipstick (Gallany Lipstick in Petal): This has quickly become one of my favorite lip colors. The lipstick dries to a matte/semi-matte color, and as I have found, once it dries, it is almost eat proof. I can’t stop raving over the color. I had nothing like it before, and would likely buy it again. I am not sure I could say anything bad about it.
Thank you for reading this, and for looking at my blog. Talk to you all later.
P.S. I am going to be at Gen Beauty this year, and I will be blogging about my experience.
