Apriltecture - Day 25 - Library

Wanted to do a speed draw today. Past couple days I’ve let stuff get out of my grasp, so trying to catch up on other stuff, so today was a quicker piece.

This is the library at Trinity College Dublin. This library holds the Book of Kells, which is an incredibly beautiful illuminated manuscript of the gospels. The college itself was built to strengthen the British colonization of Ireland, but I think its colonial history is more of a historical note these days. Also Oscar Wilde went there. So that’s cool and gay.

Since I was drawing a library from a religious college I started with “Here’s Your Future” by The Thermals. The song is part of a concept album where the US is overtaken by Christo-fascists. Thank the lord on high that that’s not relevant these days.

One day it’s gonna happen and I’m going to get sooooo drunk. You know, it.

Apriltecture

Starting to post my art on here as I make it. I'm doing a monthly drawing challenge every month and to be honest, I do not remember which ones are taken from other people and which ones I made up, but the prompt lists are all mine or my friends. Anyway, April is Apriltecture, where I draw building and stuff. Going to try to be on schedule for all of these, post them the day they are assigned to, but so far I have consistently slipped up and then have to catch up. I still need to do one more drawing for March of the Machines. Next month I will try to make a pretty graphic for it. I know the theme for next month was not my invention, its Mermay (mermaids). Then Junicorn (horned things), Kaijuly (things bigger than normal), Smaugust (dragons), Swordtember (I will actually be drawing a BUNCH of different weapons and not using Faith Schafer's list if she is still making those), Spooktober (spooky things), Huevember (digital stuff in specific colors), Divinember (gods, angels, artifacts, temples, etc) Wish me luck
