ooookay, so.

akutagawa actually respects chuuya deeply and on multiple levels - both as a superior and as a partner. he has done a significant amount for their self esteem and their perception of comfort/care/affection.

but what pisses them off is that he doesn’t seem nearly as invested in the mafia as he was before dazai came back into the picture, that he was so quick to presumably toss them aside (in favor of dazai), and that he openly refuses to acknowledge the, to them, obvious fact that he is more concerned over dazai than them. which is fine. they understand why - the fact he denies it angers them.

they’re also waiting for the day he defects, because they’re convinced it’s going to happen regardless. that makes them angry, but there isn’t much they can do about it.
