After several hours of searching and a surprisingly hasty escape from Batol...
???: Uh, hum, I didn’t expect to be treated like this... I must be interrupting... Right? I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to uh, disturb you guys. I was um, I had orders to scope out this area. Is that cool? Uh, sorry for scaring you... I’m uh, I’m Brimstone! Sorry for not saying that earlier. I heard there, uh... There was an uh, ah, a baby, did I miss it? I was looking for a baby. Its um, I think it’s blue, like the uh, like... Like the big guy over there!
Brimstone: Oh, ‘scuse me, is this the baby? I don’t think so... You’re not blue, at all! If you could let go, that would be nice...
Brimstone: I smelled um, well... I smell pee? Yeah... I think... I think I’ll follow that scent, ‘cause uh, babies pee... right? I saw a blue pee thing walk this way, so I guess I’ll head that way. Thanks for uh, hm... Hosting me? Hosting me! Thanks for hosting me. If uh, if my brothers come by, they can give you the um, the uh, the whole official business.
Freya: Quiet now, I don’t want those Sylveons catching wind of anything else that may be going on in my life... I still don’t trust them fully, they are Batol’s friends, but they’re still on my black as pitch list for various reasons...
Freya: The Arcaknights are an elite faction of… Well, Arcanine Knights–hence the name–who serve the Bahamut of Fire Island. Much like how a lord will have retainers, or how a queen may have her guards, the Arcaknights serve the same purpose: protect their higher up no matter the cost. I believe there are six.
Freya: There’s Sulfur, the one currently chasing after us, and his two brothers, Brimstone and Obsidian. Each one of them has a distinct smell, as if they hopped out of a volcano just moments earlier… They’re the youngest, the grunts of the force, but are by no means weak. After all, they’ve been able to track us this far off the islands, Rory got his scars from Sulfur, and one of them managed to attack poor Master Batol… They are not a force to be reckoned with.
Freya: Then the next level of the Arcaknights are the alleged demon twins Skoll and Hati. They’re recognizable by their coats that glimmer like the sun and moon. I remembered them patrolling the Water Village, but never knew exactly what they did…
Freya: Last but not least is Knight Zero… I’m too afraid to speak his true name in fears that it may summon him, but… He is by far the most powerful. For a Bahamut to rightfully inherit their place as leader of the Fire Island, they must be able to best him in battles of strength and wits, with nothing but a piece of ribbon. Anyone who fails is tossed off the mountainside. Should they survive and make the climb again, they get another chance, however… Let’s just say, the current Bahamut was the first one in quite some time.
Freya: His mother being the leader is indeed a large part of it. They want Rory because… He-he’s–Rory, that is--well, B-bahamut Nova–… No, I can’t risk saying why, but take my word, he’s special. He’s a part of something much bigger than he may ever comprehend. He, his mother, the Bahamut–each of them is a piece in something very grand. I will do anything and everything I can to prevent him from being used like that…
