Because many people are still saying that Vi could handle everything but not the break up with Cait, let me just say that she could "handle it" because she hadn't realised it yet, after seven years in prison, she was in shock even if it doesn't look like it sometimes, everything changing around her, having to make every kind of decision(even if she wasn't in the best place mentally to do so), I'm not going to get into details we all watched the show.

What I wanted to say is that we can think about Vi like she is this

The bomb thing from the final episode, the one Maddie put the nail/screw/whatever it was in

Now think of the nail as Vi's shock, keeping her from expressing her true emotions and reactions to the situation she was in

And lastly think of the break up as something that removes the nail and the bomb can successfully explode. That's what happened with Vi. Cait was the last drop and then she finally exploded
