I found Arcane Season 2 deeply unsatisfying, but I feel pretty alone with it since both of my friends who I watched it with liked it. I just have too many questions that did not get answered, the solution to most things was "uhhhh get rid of that guy idk, tease a sequel or something"

Fuck yeah Singed though, my man just stays winning. Undeniable winner in all of this. Also Silco, because he managed to escape before the pacing train arrived. And because I love Silco.

Got around to watching Arcane s2. Idk. Maybe it’s just a me thing but I’m constantly tripped up by the worldbuilding in this show. I never really understand any of the rules or boundaries of the world or magic system so they can constantly pull out something new and wacky and out there and I just go “huh. Sure why not, I guess. I guess that exists here now,” and it makes it really difficult for me to feel the stakes of the situation. I constantly feel like I’m missing something, I’m just always confused.

is it a hot take to say that i never really felt like caitvi worked all that well even back in season 1 as a romantic pairing and vastly preferred it as a platonic relationship? it worked so much better as a begrudging, transactional deal between her and vi, and its quick advancement to romantic feelings between the two was always one of S1's weaker elements. and then S2 happened. the scene being a good representation piece aside (which is a MASSIVE win, in case anyone misunderstands me) the issues i have with the pairing only grew ten times worse. even putting aside the gross implications of the social dynamics at play, it all just feels so... rushed. i'm supposed to believe that vi would leave her sister to run off with very clear signs of suicidal behaviour in order to get down and dirty with this topsider she's known for... what, a few days? with a six month gap between their last meeting which ended with caitlyn assaulting her and saying she's just like her sister, just like the "animals" in the undercity? the same sister who, in season 1, was vi's explicit motivator for surviving seven hellish years of prison when her life fell apart all around her?

what was once an uninteresting pairing to me has now become one i outright dislike, because it wasn't given anywhere near enough time to be properly developed, leading to horrendously out of character actions from vi and taking focus away from her and jinx, the fucking PROTAGONISTS of the show.

showrunners: yeah despite silco literally being an indirect cause of vi and powder's parents during the day of ash (according to the visions vander had during episode 6) and vander not only attempting to literally fucking murder him but also permanently scarring and blinding silco in one eye, there's a timeline in which they can be happy and be friends again 😄 💕

also the showrunners: yeah vi and jinx can never happily coexist so long as one of them is alive or in each other's lives. ever. at all.
