imagine the widest, most endless, inkiest chasm opening up. people falling over each other to get above the widening fault to the side that wasn't sinking into an inky dark abyss. no one has seen the other side since.

old rumors of the other land still being there is true and you hardly expect people to still be living. you shouldn't be surprised by how far humanity has fallen or how feral they've become, but it's no contest when you're plucked up by a stranger. one that's doing more than surviving than most of the human turned beasts. it's suspect, you know that much.

you're worth more than you think you are, but the question is are you willing to go back to the people who lied mand left you to die in the fissures. is this immortal grump who's more kind than he seems telling the truth or will he hand you over as a means to having an easier life?
