I think this is my absolute favorite piece I’ve commissioned of Silcorrine so far. The artist is shiraky on vgen and I can’t recommend them enough. This piece turned out so gorgeous and they were incredibly kind and communicative throughout the entire process.
Some facts about Corrine:
•She prefers clove cigarettes for the taste.
•She should probably wear her glasses full time but mostly uses them when she’s working and reading. Suturing is delicate work and she worries about her eye sight getting worse.
•Despite being a skilled doctor and surgeon, Corrine struggles with numbers and has dyscalculia so she keeps dosage references handy for double checking her calculations.
•Corrine’s interest in becoming a doctor began when she began learning from a woman named Elsie. Elsie was an apothecary and midwife whose services were used by many of the brothels in the Undercity. She was the woman who delivered Corrine and took her on as a runner when she was very young to help protect her from the environment she was being raised in with her mother. After realizing she had potential, Elsie began teaching Corrine about herbs and compounding them.
•The clinic Corrine eventually opens is situated in the lanes. She spent her first nine years with her mother in an area that was once called Velvet Row, where her mother worked and lived.
•Believing she was giving her daughter a chance at a different life, Cecilia made the decision to give Corrine to her father’s family, the Linderns.
