Low-budget residential house in Passau (Germany), built in 2016 by Bernd Vordermeier.
Described as "Uncompromising new residential building in concrete and solid timber construction built to KfW-70 energy standard."
No matter what the architecture critics write, to me this is architecture gone wrong, telling all people passing by to go and fuck off. The picture is from 2023 and after just 7 years the street-side facade was already looking like belonging to a lost place.
You can be "uncompromising" in your private space, but the public space is a place for all and thus needs compromises – not unlike democracy.
