Arctic Kitten
The author of one of my favorite books is holding a contest (http://veronicarossibooks.blogspot.com/2013/01/arctic-kitten-contest.html) involving her newest book, Through the Ever Night. The goal was to make cd cover art for "Arctic Kitten", a song sung in the book. I was really excited to start, especially since I actually had a day off to work on it... unfortunately, I kept reading the lyrics and all I could come up with was this goofy image of a skinny hipster yeti trying to win over a cat (one of those puffy, froo-froo cats... you know the ones I'm talking about). So... it kinda ended up on the cover.
Here's a close up of the front:
And the back:
He may not be a badass or anything, but hipster yetis need love too (or maybe the plaid just makes him a lumberjack yeti?) I'm actually really happy with how it came out : )
...and I know I've already said it a couple times, but guys. Check this author out. DO IT.
