Joltolock prompt: John and Sherlock finally ask James to move in with them. Fluff & Snogging, if you please?

"Are you sure about this?" James’ mouth wants to burst into a smile, but it can’t quite. The worry line between his eyebrows has deepened, and his eyes flick back and forth between John and me.

"James, as the unfortunate perpetrator of the world’s absolute worse joke, rest assured, neither John nor I have any desire to repeat the experience—you must let us tell you about it some time; it involved an eyebrow pencil and a French accent—we are entirely serious."

"I know you’re serious," James’ eyes are resting on John now. "But are you sure?"

Exasperating, “You’re not-“

John interrupts me, “James, I wouldn’t ask you, if I weren’t sure.” He takes my hand (press his and he presses mine back). “Sherlock and I know a bit about second chances,” he presses my hand again. “We know it isn’t something you ask for lightly. You don’t have to. We can carry on as we are, if that’s what you want. We’re happy as we are. But,” John glances at me and gives me a flash of his sweet, bright smile (I’d have to look away if he went on longer). “Sherlock and I think that we’d all three be happier, if you moved in with us.”

"This is what you want?" James looks at me.

"Of course it is."

"We love you," John squeezes James’ elbow (James doesn’t like to hold hands; leaves him without a free one) and shakes it a bit. "But think it over. It’s an open invitation, James."

"No!" James blurts, and John blushes.

"Right, okay. Sorry. We didn’t-"

"No, John! I’m sorry, I meant that I don’t need to think it over. I could come tonight."

John’s colour deepens, and I want very badly to kiss him. He clears his throat, his face shining, “Really?”

James shines back at him, “Tonight.” He nods. John steps forward, then glances at me with the air of a child who has been offered a sweet in front of his mother.

I roll my eyes, “Oh for god’s sake, John! Don’t be silly.” I lean past John and kiss James lightly on the mouth. It is not the first time I have kissed James, but it may be the fourth or fifth. James leans in and lays his hand briefly on my shoulder, which is lovely. I make a little sigh and draw back. James and I both look at John.

John swallows, still very highly coloured, “Can we go home now?” he says, looking between the two of us.

"Yes," James nods. "Let’s go home."
