From @cantina_argiano - 2013 Brunello Di Montalcino from @hyssteakhouse 8th Ave. This youthful wine showcases elegant raspberry and orange rind with secondary notes of cherry, dust and tobacco with a core of light mineral. Surprisingly light bodied for Sangiovese, its wonderful core of acid and clean finish made it a great foil to the proteins paired with it. 이탈리아 토스카나 지방의 와이너리인 아르지아노의 솔렝고. 아르지아노 역시 그라빠도 만들고 올리브 오일도 만든다. 르네상스 시대에 설립된 나름 유서 깊은 곳. 1500년대부터 와인을 만들었고 1934년부터 국제적인 상을 받는 등 한 마디로 유서 깊은 곳. ㅋㅋ

몬탈치노 지역의 작은 중세 마을에 위치해 있고, 48 헥타르의 포도밭은 예전에는 모두 바다에 잠겨 있었기 때문에 토양에 미네랄이 풍부하다. 

솔렝고는 토스카나 와인이지만 산지오베제 품종을 쓴 건 아니고 40% 카베르네 소비뇽, 35% 메를로, 25% 쉬라를 블렌딩. 수확한 포도는 품종 별로 따로 2주 정도 숙성시킨 뒤 새 프랑스 오크통에서 블렌딩해 15개월 가량 숙성시킨다. 로버트 파커가 95점을 준 (달고 진한...) 맛좋은 와인. 수령 12~15년 정도 된 나무의 포도로 만든다. 

유서 깊은 와이너리인 주제 이태리 포도는 하나도 없이 보르도 같은 와인만 만드네? 는 아니고 1888년부터 생산을 시작한 브루넬로 디 몬탈치노도 있다. (브루넬로는 산지오베제의 다른 이름) 그리고 달달해서 디저트로도 마실 수 있는 로제 와인도 있다.
