Beowulf: Do you like the idea of people telling stories about you when you're not around?
Kind of? It depends on the stories. But mostly yes? I like the idea that my friends tell stories about me because they miss me and care about me a lot.
the Illiad:What would you rather have: glory, power or a beautiful lover?
I don’t care much for glory or power, and I also don’t factor aesthetics into my attraction usually, but I guess I’ll go with a beautiful lover? Beauty is subjective and I’m always a slut for love.
Canterbury Tales:Would you ever consider going on a pilgrimage, or great voyage?
Maybe? Pilgrimage yes, voyage would depend on like... the extent/duration??
Macbeth:Do you think you have much of a hubris?
Nope! That’s a fault I don’t have, thank goodness.
Paradise Lost:Are you religious? If so how does your religion play into your life and morals?
Nope. I can be kind of spiritual, but organized religion is not my thing. I find it very easy to just stick to my own moral compass, because I much prefer to make a positive rather than negative difference on the world/other people. I do respect how religion can positively benefit other people, though, and it makes me really happy to see some of my religious friends getting very excited about things? Katey sometimes apologizes when she talks about being excited about it and that is the opposite of what I want, Katey being so purely excited about religion is starting to help me overcome my own aversions and her existence is a blessing. So that’s how religion plays a roll in my life despite everything else.
The Prince:What traits do you value most?
Intelligence, loyalty, honesty, kindness?? Also probably sarcasm and a bit of misanthropy because I tend to love people like that.
Pride and Prejudice:Do you plan on marrying someone when you're older? Why or why not?
Yes absolutely. It’s just always been something I’ve wanted? Specifically I want to marry my signif, because while I can imagine life without him, I want the life that we’re trying to build together and don’t see that changing.
Don Juan:Are you a flirt?
YES. I don’t usually even mean to be. I just love a lot and overexpress my emotions? Also I end up with crushes on everyone I care about it’s a problem.
Frankenstein:Have you ever experienced the death of a loved one?
Yes it sucks 0/10 would not recommend. (However, I didn’t handle it by trying to reanimate corpses, so I give myself points for like. Coping with loss etc.)
Ulysses:What is your average day like?
Sleep through to alarms before finally getting up, shower if I have time, go to class, wander around London, bus home, shower if I didn’t in the morning, read or go on tumblr or take a nap if I’m particularly low-functioning and just getting to and from class used up my spoons. If it’s a good day, I eat at some point, and if it’s a great day, I clean my room and shop for groceries. Sometimes I do laundry but usually not until I run out of clothes.
The Great Gatsby:What is one thing you want but cannot have?
Time to get the therapy I need and become a functioning human again?? At least I can’t have it without moving back into my parents’ house, and that whole town is a giant trigger, and I can’t imagine recovering psychologically there, so I’d honestly rather tank my GPA and flounder a lot instead.
Orlando:How do you express your gender, if you do at all?
That’s complicated, it depends on however I identify at the time? Mostly I don’t, I wear sneakers, jeans, and t-shirts. I usually feel more ‘girly’ than I enjoy expressing, and there was a period for a few months last summer when I wasn’t comfortable in any clothes unless I looked much more masculine than I’m used to. I hardcore wanted to pass as a ‘boy’ even though I didn’t feel diferent enough from my usual self-identity as a girl?? It was weird basically and now gender expression is weird and I’m pretty neutral about it on the whole except sometimes I go through phases when I want to wear flower crowns and dresses, and sometimes I go through phases when I want to wear baseball caps and pretend that I don’t have boobs and look like a boy.
the Catcher in the Rye:Do you believe in the innocence of childhood?
Yes and no? it’s real but also so easily shattered, and I just? yes and no.
1984:Describe your political views?
There is adequate support for people who need it. Everyone has a home and enough to eat and doesn’t have to work more than 8 hours a day for this. Everyone has access to healthcare. Minorities have rights and everyone is happy.
Lord of the Flies:What do you fear the most about human nature?
Slaughter-House Five:Do you think that war is justifiable?
The Call of the Wild:Do you feel any connections to animals?
YES okay I feel connections to EVERYTHING I over-emote, I cried when my fair fish died after less than a day.
Oryx and Crake:What would you do if you were the last human on earth?
...I would be so scared?? and lonely?? idk man I would probably try to survive until a wave of depression became crushing and then kill myself like?? I need people.
