Ok so; both arialnote and martianhammock asked me the thing about saying 5 random facts; so I figured it'd be easier to make a consolidated post (as opposed to either answering both and coming up with 10 things -5 for each, or copying and pasting it twice or something like that). So here goes
1. I’ve recently -after a like year-long break due to discouragement at the seemingly impossible difficulty (I’d only ever beaten Phalanx), have taken up playing Demon’s Souls again. In the week since I started I’ve went from only having beaten Phalanx to beating Tower Knight, Armor Spider, Flamelurker, Leechmonger, Red Dragon, Ostrava (accidentally during 1-2), and Executioner Miralda. (I got up to Fool’s Idol and Dragon God respectively but each thrashed my ass at the time. And I can’t get passed the friggin fat demon thingy in Valley of Storms so I’ve beaten no bosses from there or Tower of Latreia). Arguably that’s not THAT much improvement mind you, but still it’s something. Each victory has also shown me why people actually like it. See, I used to be like “it’s not one of those games that’s hard enough to feel challenging and rewarding as you progress. It’s hard for hardness’ sake and therefore is unfun”. But it really does feel like an accomplishment with each one you beat (and grinding and such isn’t nearly as much as I thought, and prove equally rewarding) and actually can be fun; if admittedly still a bit annoying at times. When I finish I think I might try Dark Souls though instead of doing Demon's again on New Game Plus >.>
2. This year marked the 15th anniversary of my fathers death. I find that as my memory grows worse I start thinking about what little I remember of him more since it’s like, like grasping at what bits I still remember (think like, cupping your hands under a sieve while sand/water runs out to slow it’s escape) and sort of trying to make me not feel as "guilty" at how little I remember (I say "I could see that making sense f I was like 5 or 6. But at 10 years old? Yeah that's fucked").
3. I recently could’ve had a chance to get a book signed in-person by Neil Gaiman -who is my favorite author, but anxiety and a fear of driving in Mass (seriously they’re friggin nutso drivers; and I don't do good with highway driving and shit) caused me to miss out. I kick myself over it still :/
4. My favorite animals are the Ring-Tailed Lemur and Thylacine (lemur catta and thylacinus cynocephelus; if I might be a tiny bit show-offy of like my zoological interest and whatnot >.>). Striped hyena's and glaucus atlanticus come very close seconds (I've an OC based off the latter, in fact).
5. I had/have high hopes for the most recent story I was writing to the point that instead of throwing myself into working on it like mad as a form of escapism from the stress around me (due to my living situation), I took a break so as to not draw negativity into it, possibly marring the story.
Dunno if any of these are really “random” so much as they are weird but eh *shrugs*
