It’s not easy being a University student with a job and technically kinda Guardian who got no real training and now you’re with another kid and gotta double your efforts trying to figure stuff out.

I’m not quite sure if recs and suggestions just refers to possible animal choices for Off to Italy kwamis or for the AU as a whole, but bouncing off of that idea with Allan and Firefly, maybe that could be the Aether Miraculous? It could work since it deals with light, and since fire is sometimes mistaken for aether, and since the word comes from the base of aithein “burn, shine” in Greek. (P.S. If you do mean you don’t want anymore OtI asks at the moment in general, than sincere apologies and please feel free to say so in your reply.)

Its more the animal suggestions, in truth I haven’t had a chance to really sit down and think about about this au an the animal assignments. I’m also getting a little annoyed at the recs for mythical creatures as I don’t like those existing as miraculouses. I don’t even like Dragon existing as it really throws things off. Its the only mythical creature of Fu’s box and that creature is very significant and holds a lot of weight to it. 

It should be one of the most powerful and not so casually assigned with that mythical status and the factor of what it’s based on. It’s another thing that sucks about them using the Chinese Zodiac as miraculouses as a lot of those animals can also be used elsewhere, like some could be used here (Horse, Ox, Goat, Snake, Rooster, ect.).  

Either way, Firefly would work assigned to aether. Not only for the false fire bit, but it could count as a good 3rd in command as its the only animal of the potential list that can shine (its own) light, which is what the sun and moon are most known for, being sources of light. And you got the bit of aether representing space/heaven and fireflies are like little stars; it’d be a really good fit. 

Very gradually these kwamis are shaping up.

Omigosh but what if Ariia was the kwami for Venus?? Like, songbirds—and birds in general—are known for being excellent pollinators for flowers, such as roses and common myrtle—two symbols of Venus. Plus, the magic weapon being small arrows could be a cool reference/tie-in towards Venus’s son, Cupid.

Could see her with Venus, though Dove and Waterfowl can also work. Could also see Uranus and Mercury too.

Ariia could even be one of the 5 elements, on the nose Air or Fire.
