Arilou is a secluded region covered mostly by trees, with hot summers and cold, wet winters. It never snows, except in the mountains.
The main areas of the region are as follows:
The Pillar Sea- A shallow sea surrounding the region on three sides, and from which rise giant pillars of rock. These make navigating to and from Arilou by boat nearly impossible.
Cliché Forest- This is the name of the large swathe of trees covering most of central Arilou. Within this forest is all of the food, water and shelter any pokemon should need, making it quite popular.
Emerald Plains- Famous for it's tall, soft, dark green grass, the Plains make up most of West Arilou.
Sapphire Lake- This is the largest lake in Arilou, lying to the Northeast within the Cliche. It's a popular place for Pokemon to gather and make their homes.
Ruby Fields- An area just beneath the Plains. Volcanic activity has created natural hot springs all over the fields, making it a popular destination.
Ruined Marsh- A gloomy, patch of marshlands southeast of Sapphire lake. It is dotted by ruins of a civilization that lived in a valley in ancient times, long since flooded to create the Marsh. Ghost pokemon in particular love living here.
Charred Woods- A small section of the Forest that was burned down hundreds of years ago and mysteriously never recovered. Recently new trees have begun to grow, with blackened bark and leaves in shades of red, orange and yellow.
Sunburn- The Southeast corner of Arilou, this expanse of red rock is just that. Nothing much lies here beyond multicolored cliffs and mesas, with few pokemon choosing to make their home here. The only way to get to the Pale Desert is by passing through here.
Star Canyon- In a Rocky, dry place just north of Sunburn is the home of one of the region's most unique features- A canyon with five points akin to a star. Along the walls of this canyon grow glowing blue crystals, some palm sized and others enormous. Some theorize that the canyon was formed by a meteor strike.
Pale Desert- As far South as one can get in Arilou, with some debate as to whether or not it's part of the region at all. This desert is characterized by its brilliant white sand.
Mt. Throne- The tallest peak in a mountain range stretching across the southern most part of Arilou. It snows readily at such high elevations.
