GNN had ran the story and Riley had caught it shortly after finishing up a long hot shower. After hearing the details they had, she grabbed a hooded sweatshirt and moved to grab a pair of jeans to toss on. A hand offered them to her and she glanced to her friend Diamond.
"You really should relax, Ri."
"Really? After getting you to stay with me until I know a certain psycho isn't going to hurt you, you want me to relax from said psycho having a chance of bustin' out?"
Riley got dressed and shook her head. She wasn't about to risk it anyway but she knew her friend had a valid point. Maybe she was overreacting a bit but she was allowed to be on edge. No one knew just how nuts Sabine could be except a few people. Truly she was terrifying.
"I know you're worried about me but you need to take care of yourself too. You've been getting into the swing of things again. Why blow it in getting paranoid? What do you gain from it besides anxiety over the smallest details?"
Diamond moved to stand only to place her hands on Riley's shoulders. While the splicer was taller by a few inches, the blonde still had a way of making her look down to her easily. A glance passed between them before Riley was pulled into a proper embrace where the dancer held her firm. The splicer let out a soft sigh and returned the hold.
"I just need to be prepared. I fought her. I know her tactics are dirty. I'm not going to go far. I just need to make sure everything here is set up and online properly. If trouble comes knocking, I won't let it win."
"I know and I worry over you too. Just don't get yourself killed in the crossfire if something happens? We're friends and I don't want to lose you either."
They eventually parted which left Riley grabbing up her phone to make a call while checking on the other tenants in the building. She left her apartment with Willie's system running in full swing. Jogging down the stairwell, she moved through her phone to find GCPD's number along with a personal line that connected her right to the helm of the matter.
"I need to at least let the Battle Axe know I'm on guard."
