This power allows the user to create fire spontaneously, even in the absence of natural fuel sources, and sustain it indefinitely through sheer will. The intensity, temperature, and color of the flames can be manipulated, with variations reflecting changes in fuel composition or impurities, such as magnesium producing white flames or copper generating green ones. User can craft flames into tangible constructs, such as weapons, shields, or living entities, each retaining the destructive properties of fire. Through precise control, they can introduce or remove impurities, modifying the fire’s behavior, power, and visual appearance. Control, discipline, forethought, and restraint are extremely important. Unconscious, emotion-influenced, impulsive, or reckless use of this power can be catastrophic and the distance, mass and precision that she can use is limited to the skill set she has. Ilya is still a beginer with her powers due to a fear of hurting others. Fire Immunity, Fire Resistance, Fire Absorption/Consumption and/or Thermal Resistance isn't always part of the package, so burning herself is possible as well as the possibility of not being immune to other side-effects/byproducts, such as smoke. The heat of the fire may exceed the user's thermal resistance threshold, resulting in injuries. The user is at a massive disadvantage against fireproof materials. accustom to a certain degree of freedom after a nomadic, wasteland dwelling existence, living in sol city comes with a suffocating amount of rules. they don’t hate it. the benefits can sometimes outweigh the strain of taking human form, of living in dark and cramped crevices beneath the streets, but they wish that an outer colony was viable in a way more long lasting than an expedition camp. the wastelands are home.

the meteor rendered the world lawless. in smoke’s eyes, this is the way the it should be. attempting to restore an old form of order to a reality so fundamentally different from the original earth settlements flies in the face of what nature wanted when it wreaked destruction upon the surface. no. they don’t trust any figure of authority. they answer only to themselves.

they are a massive, volatile creature with a long history of roughing it in the wilds and exterminating wayward beasts. suppressing mutant abominations so survey crews, scrappers and hunters can push further away from the safety of sol city was a natural progression of this skillset. 

what's one object that they always keep on their person?

they keep the gold-plated claw of their first mutie conquest, strung on a cutting of dirty hemp cord. back when they were actively hunting for mutant quarry as a ravager, it was tradition to keep a piece of your first kill. they no longer pick off stray wanderers but they keep it as a memento. while in dragon form this is kept around their neck, in human form the cord is too long to be a necklace and is instead wrapped around the arm and weaved through the fingers.

dragon physiology. they take the form of a massive, serpentine wyvern. this is considered by smoke to be their true form, whereas their human form is the ‘’mutation.’’

while in wyvern form, smoke has all the strengths that make sense for his size and anatomy. flight via wings, natural weaponry via claws, teeth and tail, flame breath via an infernal organ. they are agile in the air, and can outmanoeuvre grounded opponents.

size is a problem, they cannot alter that. they are less mobile while not in flight. though thickly scaled, any decently strong projectile could pierce their hide. subdued, they will regress into human form which is equivalent to a human and is vulnerable to all associated weaknesses.

they have no companionship or loyalty to other mutants, really. they seek challenges. they will lie, cheat and kill for personal gain. they value strength and despise weakness. if you can best them they will respect you.   also they live in the underground because there aren’t any dragon-sized apartments.

biography : TW: Child loss / Death / OCD Born and raised out in the wastes as the only surviving child of many, many births, Ngelah was a miracle child but also the last attempt his parents ever planned to make. It felt cruel, at times, to raise a child in this world, but it felt worse to let themselves die out. Ngelah spent his formative years outside of the safety of Sol City. Witnessed first hand the suffering of mutants pre-cure and the many deaths they caused. It lead to him becoming outwardly cold-hearted and overtly practical. He loved those he grew up with, would never turn away a stranger unless they proved to be actively hostile or dangerous. He'd spent thirty years out there before finally finding solace (heh) in Sol City. Ngelah lost so many people, friends and found family, his own parents. Perhaps he'd have been less angry about it if every death were due to mutants or violence. Instead, he witnessed the most tragic deaths of all. Human failure. A lack of resources. A fever that wouldn't break. A simple lack of supplies or safety. He wished to never return to the wastelands, to never see those horrors but once he step foot into Sol City he knew someone had too. He worked hard as a scavenger, worked hard to keep those he went out with safe until he climbed his way to the top. Ngelah views being a Councillor as important work, too many failings had lead to more deaths than he cared for amongst his fellow sector workers. Too many missed opportunities and too much callousness in the higher ups. Ngelah remains on high alert. Whilst not presenting as someone who's typically 'anxious' he does have OCD, compounded by years of imposing so much importance on his own actions and blaming himself for any loss or failure both before and after Sol City. It's a closely guarded secret that many dismiss as a 'quirk' of his. Of course the overly pedantic, Sector 1 Councillor will triple check locks and doors and locks and doors— It often manifests more as pure O, a lot of obsessions and compulsive thoughts.

Born in a smaller settlement that fell due to lack of resources and so people, he had to move to Sol City. Ngelah took a few survivors with him, people he fiercely protected, moreso after every loss throughout the years. He loves it's safety, it's protection. Ngelah's only concern is the way so much resources are dedicated to pure entertainment—he doesn't think they're at a point civilization wise to spread manpower like that.

do they trust the council’s leadership? why or why not? Ngelah trusts himself, and has a working relationship with the other Councillors. He doesn't think they're all the best for the job—some he thinks are simply too young or naive to have such positions so early on in life. He also worries about people putting their own self interest above what's good for the rest of the group.

Fellow Settlement Survivors: Ngelah became the defacto leader of his small settlement. It never had a name and was a group of rag tag survivors from the very beginning of the fall of civilization. They would have come to Sol City as a group roughly 20 years ago. Ngelah is fiercely protective of them, no matter how they turned out or if they're a mutant. He will, however, have exiled any dangerous mutants (or people) without a second thought.

Sector 1 Workers (& Other Sectors): If your muse works in Sector 1, Ngelah considers them his responsibility. He also like those who work in security, food and medicine. Anyone who works in a more 'frivolous' sector ( 9 & 10, for example) have to work harder for his attention.

raccoon physiology and marksmanship. drawing from their raccoon-like traits, they have heightened agility, dexterity, and keen night vision, allowing them to navigate environments with ease and stealth as well as the ability to perform acrobatic maneuvers and quick escapes when necessary. coupled with their sharp senses, they excel in tracking and spotting targets from a distance. their marksmanship is top-notch; they can handle a variety of firearms with precision and accuracy.

reconnaissance and infiltration, essentially and very adept at evasion and ambush tactics. basically Axel is good at running away. their keen senses help them detect movement and anticipate threats, giving them a tactical advantage. their marksmanship skills allow them to hit targets with impressive accuracy, whether from a distance or in dynamic situations.

while beneficial for agility, the raccoon physiology means they are more vulnerable in direct physical confrontations against larger opponent and their reliance on stealth can be a double-edged sword especially if they are caught in an open area without cover- basically he's cooked.

emotionally, their penchant for curiosity leads them into risky situations, as they might investigate something that typically is too dangerous- axel needs a moral compass. moreover, their focus on precision shooting can make them less effective in chaotic, close-quarters combat where rapid-fire or brute force is necessary. ( they can only rely so much on their baby knife ) lastly, their nocturnal nature also hinders them during daylight operations, causing fatigue / reduced effectiveness in bright conditions.

he's always lived in the city. which is the reason why he despises it so. it is the only thing he knows and that is why he's lashing out, causing mayhem wherever he turns.

unlike his sister, jules bounced around from settlement to settlement after emancipating from their parents at sixteen ( fifteen and a half, if you were to ask analyn ) . all before landing and creating roots in a settlement of what would have been modern - day nashville, all before an impromptu visit to sol city, resulted in his life being tragically cut short . unbeknownst to jules himself . . . anyways, that analyn brought him back & fabricated a whole lot of his memory, he's thriving .

real talk. bad as it sounds, jules likes to stay away from the politics of sol city . if it doesn't directly affect him and his daily activities, he tends to steer clear of it . very much a go with the wind sorta guy, he prefers to let his intuition vibe out most situations and people .

psychic probability manipulation. jules manipulates probability through the use of psychic + psionic means . this allows for him to perform psionic feats that sway the odds in his favor as well as telepathically view all the possible outcomes of a situation and alter reality by projecting one's thoughts . subconsciously + psionically initiates random telekinetic acts that affect probability in his favor by making improbable ( but not impossible ) things occur within his line of vision, thus causing him to have good luck & his opponents to have bad luck . this probability field phenomenon can be anything from an enemy's equipment failure to avoiding stray shots . this subconsciously controlled talent is mostly triggered when he is in a fight or flight mode . but it emanates from his body at all times, is completely subconscious & even protects him if he has no knowledge of the danger, or affects his luck in actual games of chance . it is also largely participatory — in order for the luck to take effect against others, he must engage in an action whose chance he is able to affect . as a byproduct of his abilities, his cerebral cortex emits a current of bioelectric pulses down his spine to instinctively guide his movements during such situations, which has the added effect of augmenting his natural reflexes and reactions to superhuman levels .
