Arn/Bullet + Caught

He’d seen her doing some shit that bothered him. Over and over. Things that made him pissed off. Things that hurt him. But nothing as bad as when he caught her trying to get into his bank account. He had seen what she was up to then, put her on the account. Then moved all his cash but a few bucks, enough to keep the account open, to a new bank. One she wouldn’t know about.

Arn was not stupid. Slow, maybe. Trusting. But not stupid. She was a con. She’d made him love her and now she was about to take the money and run. Maybe she’d realize he was onto her when she went to check that bank. 

So, he kept talking this fictional bonus. Thousands of dollars from a military pension. Something. He kept acting like everything was okay. Promising her to take her on a vacation with the money. 

And then he went to the bank, calling out of work the day it was supposed to arrive. When he saw that Infiniti roll up, his heart broke again, all over. And he watched her go inside. Come out twenty minutes later looking pissed off. Burning rubber out of the lot.
