Announcements and Updates!

Over the next few months, we’ll be looking at making some changes. We thought you might like to know, and/or offer feedback. :)

Achievements Unlocked!

We’re adding a year/date to the Achievement Tags so we can differentiate and you can technically earn a new one for every event you participate in. For example, the Halloween Achievement for “Survived the Forest of Death” and bonus (for completing all Halloween prompts) “Edo Tensai Zombie” will now be “Survived the Forest of Death 2017” and “Edo Tensai Zombie 2017” for this year.

Updates to the Rules!

At some point over the coming months, Tim and Arrow will be looking over the rulebook and doing our best to loosen things up in a way that will allow for a more relaxed feeling and still keep things safe. We’ll also be adding a disclaimer, as we’re a host-archive-and-prompt blog, and are looking to add rating tags. (Oh boy, Arrow sure does love Mass Post Edit!)

Rating and Ranking Tags!

You’ll probably have noticed by now that you can filter prompts by rank, but we’re also working on implementing rating tags. This is to tie in with the disclaimer, but also means you can filter fics/prompts for reading. 

Now, if you’re under 13, I’m pretty sure you shouldn’t be on tumblr to begin with, but if you’re under 18 it’s not our responsibility to police you. If you can read a fic, you can read the rating and should be able to judge for yourself if it’s something you should be reading.

Ratings will be translated to Sumi’s standards, which are:

General (G), Teen (T), Mature (M), and Explicit (E) and for those odd occasions, Not Rated (NR).

As always: Rate your pieces guys! I shouldn’t have to go hunting for either the rating, or the wordcounts. Y’all know this.

An example of why not to go ahead and read above-age fics, is Arrow. Arrow read things she shouldn’t have as a teenager. There were unexpected scenes, and people wandered up behind her at the worst time ever. 

Questions were asked. Assumptions were made. Quick talking was needed. 

Arrow now needs brain bleach, and cannot cope with people looking over her shoulder while she reads. It could have been worse though... it could have been Arrow’s mother.

Art Fill Rankings!

Currently Art Fills have been vastly underappreciated by the Mission Rankings, and for this we can only apologize. What we’re going to do, is talk to some artist buddies and come up with a criteria to rank artwork. Things like Sketches versus Inked/solid lines. Color versus non-color. And yes, Monochrome counts as colors. Non-color is art that consists of lines alone.

More Personnel Ranks!

Yes kiddies! @modernart2012​ has been plowing through the prompts, in an exciting (and a little terrifying) manner, and so we’re looking into adding some extra ranks. Things like ANBU, ANBU Captain ect. 

Eventually, we hope to add things like Specialties for people who tend to follow certain trends in their writing. For example, @redhothollyberries​ who has a knack for the spooky and macabre, and would probably live in the basement of T&I if we let them. 

Again, feedback would be enjoyed very much so.

E-Ranks!

To tie in with the new Personnel Ranks, E-ranks will be a thing after the New Year rolls around! It won’t count towards your Graduation, or affect your promotions. These are… non-missions of a sort. Like Academy missions, they’re more chores to be honest.

What is an E-rank you ask? Prompts! Submitting a prompt counts as an E-rank, and will be tagged in your Mission Log Book – which will double as an advertisement in a sense. Anybody looking at your entry will be able to see you submitted a prompt or headcanon and see it, which in turn means that they can borrow/use it – and perhaps in turn submit a mission.

If somebody submits E-Ranks, but does not complete any other missions, they’ll be labelled Academy Student, which means you can still be a part of our community, even if you aren’t a writer, or available to commit to our events! We understand life gets busy. (Yes, yes, Tim, I know. I should do my school work.)

Winter Wishes/Secret Santa!

While discussing what to do for the Hols, Tim came up with the fabulous concept of a Sort-of Secret Santa Wishlist that sounds fabulous. Seeing as how we’re looking at doing about 4 Events per year, we want each event to have it’s own... thing? Sparkle? It’s own... something. 

The catch is, if you want to submit something to the list, you have to fufill a Winter Wish. Otherwise, we’ll have an impossible list and not enough writers.

Now, we don’t have all the details worked out, and we’re still a week off closing the Halloween Event, but we’ll be looking at opening things during the last week of November if all goes well. 

So keep your eyes peeled for this, and keep on writing!
