southern gothic 8tracks made me think about the thing.
...and we will be kings.
redraw of an old thing from an old au. hijikata izura (top) is mine, lane taeven (middle) is @therewillbebunnies and fey eliyon (bottom) is @ppetshopp.
mcaau costume update (now with 100% more wanda). did some doodles since the original costume evolution sheet isn't relevant anymore.
that thing on pietro's hand is a modified chitauri gauntlet - at some point during the attack on new york he punches out a guy with his own armor and realizes how much easier it is so he just keeps it forever.
wanda's costume is mostly synthetic leather type material but i was too lazy to render that.
some circus au gordon bullshit, god i haven't drawn gordon in forever and blugh whatever.
yeah i'm done with this.
THE REST OF THE WORLD CAN BURN.
possible future for mcaau twins at age 25-ish where they kill magneto, decide they can't trust humans or mutants, so now they're on no one's side but their own. also, pietro may or may not have just recently broken out of a maximum security asylum.
here's the non-filtered to heck version.
all flats and i got REALLY lazy towards the end with detailing but you get the idea. also by the time he's 21 he should be about 3 inches taller and a good 10-15 lbs. heavier but i didn't think about that until like 3/4 of the way through doing this, so.
full view.
age 16:
the "hell yeah i'm gonna be a superhero too" stage. being the only one unaffected by the skip due to the unconscious influence of wanda's chaos magic, pietro decides to make his own costume to fight crimes and stuff, which is basically running gear with a color scheme.
age 19:
wooooooooo fake science. i figure at some point tony's like bruh you need a real costume (plus it's an excuse to do research on pietro's powers and invent/test brand new tech). the blueish gray parts are an ultra thin, ulta resilient nano cell mesh built directly into the body suit.
"but jigen, what's the point of armor if all his vital areas are exposed??" because it's not armor. i'm sure tony tried to convince pietro to armor up at first, because tony, but pietro straight up refused to wear anything that would slow him down even a little, so instead tony used the nano mesh to create structural support over key areas of pietro's body (and not a centimeter extra, because pietro INSISTS he can feel the difference). the nanites adapt instantaneously to pietro's movement, thereby reducing impact and increasing his speed by an entire mach number (~mach 6 at the point).
because pietro moves so ridiculously fast, it actually takes a deceptive amount of energy for the nanites to be able to keep up, so the mesh is powered by localized arc reactor strips. originally tony tried to use a singular, normal arc reactor, but pietro kept accidentally destroying it during the trial runs, rendering the nano tech useless. having full on localized reactors would add too much drag, so tony created what are essentially the arc reactor version of those sticky-note circuits -- basically flexible, adhesive batteries that power individual sections of the mesh, but have enough overlap so that if one gets knocked out, another will compensate for it.
also note the lack of goggles and the position of the scars. it only took one instance of hitting mach 4 and having shattered plastic imbedded in his face for pietro to decide he'd rather risk the occasional bug.
age 21:
notice whose colors he's wearing. :'v
eventually dadneto shows up and ruins everyone's good time, but especially pietro's. pietro learns VERY QUICKLY that having even an ounce of metal on his person is a bad idea, so his costume is stripped down to the absolute basics -- plus at this point he's so fast that he outpaces any tech-based enhancements anyway, topping out around mach 10 (basing this on ultimates/movie version of pietro, who is SIGNIFICANTLY faster than 616).
