Hip Hop turned 50 today, I want to thank every MC/DJ that’s blessed my ears and helped change the world. They said it was a fad and it would never last, now it runs the universe! To you millennials and gen Z‘s PLEASE do your homework and study the greats and their influence’s. Please don’t fall into the dumb hole of ageism, if The Rolling Stones can still tour than RUN DMC and our Godfathers should be able to do the same thing! Support the pioneers, and actually GO BUY THE MUSIC (especially if you know they own their masters and publishing) These record labels aren’t paying artists for their work with streaming. So support the art and PLEASE make new art and PLEASE try to incorporate the foundations that started the art. I won’t be around when it turns 100, so to generation Z…. Please pay homage and honor the greats AND the lesser known artists that ALL helped shape the culture. Finally… STOP THE VIOLENCE!, SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE AND GIVE BACK AND LETS BUILD!
