Lucius nodded one last time to his colleague as they split ways. It was rare that work and play, so to speak, could be combined in his line of work, so it was a nice treat when it did happen. On top of supporting the same side in the ongoing war, Lucius and the Bulgarian Representative had also bonded a year prior when were made co-chairs of committee tasked with addressing and handling house-elf activists. They arranged the lunch that afternoon citing official ICW business, but more than once the conversation drifted to their families and recent Quidditch outcomes.
Another rarity, as Lucius left the lunch he realized he didn’t have anything planned for that afternoon. There were no meetings, no piles of paperwork waiting for him at his office or at home; for once, his time was his own. Rather than head straight back to Wiltshire to spend time with Narcissa and Draco, Lucius took a moment to browse the nearby street vendors. He didn’t want to dawdle for too long before getting home, but he figured it would be an even sweeter surprise for Narcissa if he unexpectedly arrived home early with flowers in hand.
It was as he was debating between roses and orchids that he saw her. At first glance he couldn’t be quite sure it was her, but after concentrating on the woman for a moment, he was sure he wasn’t mistaken. “Purnima?”
