Merlin Fanfiction Prompt:

The rise of a new Albion.

Following the death of Arthur, Merlin leaves Camelot to leave cope with both Arthur's death and in the belief that he has failed his destiny.

Guinevere who was pregnant at the time gives birth to twins and names her son Arthur after Arthur and Thomasina after her father Tom. She rules justily and magic is once again legalized.

20 years later, Merlin returns to Camelot as Gaius is not well and is expected to pass away soon. Merlin returns, but he is no longer the cheerful sassy boy but a quieter and wiser man.

(Merlin Age: 40 years old)

Upon his arrival, he then meets Arthur II Guinevere's son, is absolutely struck by the uncanny resemblance between him and Arthur.

Arthur II is lively, fun loving, flirtatious 20 year old boy who is now coming of age and expected to take the throne.

Upon seeing him, Merlin remembers the Great Dragon words, "For when Albion's need is greatest Arthur will rise again."

Arthur has risen and Albion's next trial has begun.

Rewatching Merlin's Season 1, episode "Lancelot", I realized when Merlin is asking Gwen who she choose from Arthur and Lancelot. He sounds exactly like a girl who has a major crush on one of the guys and she kinda wanna show of her crush and talk about it but doesn't want to look so desperate.

Like, 'Oh? You'd chose Lancelot? Well personally I think Arthur is kind of more good looking.'

Kind of like that dialogue.

Like rewatching that scene I kept waiting for Merlin to say something along the lines of, "Well I'd choose Lancelot" or something like that.

And the fact he didn't kind of makes me feel that there is a deleted scene somewhere.

Like you don't ask another girl who they like unless you want to talk about who you like, Merlin.

Dear All,

I am going to be starting Season 5 of Merlin.

I have explored the fandom enough to know that it will break my soul.

But alas, I cannot fear of what lies ahead.

My only wish is that you fare me well.

And that if I come back injured do not leave me alone.

For I started on this journey of this series knowing that I will be broken.

I know this show is no longer airing but we must unite for the fandom, for the love of Camelot.

To all those who have been there with me through my journey I thank you sincerely.

For it was your reblogs and likes that let me knew I wasn't alone.

When I return I hope you will continue to support me.

Because while we may never know when it is truly Albions greatest need.

We know that Arthur will return.

And for him this fandom must be protected.

For the once and future King.

For King Arthur.

For the love of Camelot.
